TheBlaze TV The 100-Year-Old Agreement You Need to Know About to Understand What’s Driving the Islamic State Sep. 18, 2014 8:45pm Erica Ritz Glenn Beck broke down the history of the Middle East on his television program Thursday, focusing on a nearly 100-year-old agreement that he says is integral to understanding the motivations of the Islamic State: the Sykes-Picot Agreement. If you do not understand the Sykes-Picot Agreement, Beck said, you cannot fully understand the Islamic State, or why the Israelis and the Palestinians will never reach a two-state solution. Though many go back to 1948 and the creation of...

Earlier this month, a preacher delivering a homophobic sermon set up camp outside the Carrier Library at James Madison University in Virginia. According to reports, the radical preacher was telling gay individuals they were going to hell, in addition to telling students who identified as Christians they too were headed “straight to hell” for living a life of sin. Instead of reciprocating with hateful rhetoric, however, JMU students responded in an admirable way. As the preacher rages on, one student began to play the guitar while others sang the hymn “How He Loves.” “This is the way you handle it,”...

I caught a bit of Beck's radio program yesterday and he said that his daughter attended a Ted Cruz event in Dallas recently and reported to Glenn that she was very impressed and Glenn said that although Cruz is currently ranked 5th he believes that after his strong defense of Israel in DC before the Middle Eastern Hezbollah-supporting "Christians" Beck said he believes Cruz is "the real deal" and should be the No. 1 GOP candidate. As per its common dictionary definition, theft is described as “..the taking of another person’s property without that person’s permission or consent with the intent to deprive the rightful owner of it.” To commit a theft a person or entity must act in a state of mens rea or guilty mind and with full intent to deprive the victim of property rightfully belonging to him or her. Glen Beck’s “charity” charade is neither conservative nor, in my opinion, Christian.  This nation’s charitable impulses have already been exploited beyond belief through decades’ worth of lax immigration enforcement.  The most likely outcome of Beck’s “charity” act is that it will diminish the rule of law and undermine conservative goals. With his flippant gift-giving, Beck (and his colleagues like Dana Loesch) will make it harder for America to reduce illegal immigration, maintain our sovereignty, and restrain the welfare state.  How could teddy bears and soccer balls have such an impact?  The short answer is that giving door prizes to illegal aliens...

Liberals just aren't very liberal these days. The word “liberal” comes from the Latin word meaning freedom, and in the 19th century liberals in this country and abroad stood for free speech, free exercise of religion, free markets, free trade -- for minimal state interference in people's lives. In the 20th century New Dealers revised this definition, by arguing that people had a right not only to free speech and freedom of religion, but also, as Franklin Roosevelt said in his 1941 Four Freedoms speech, freedom from fear and from want. Freedom from want meant, for Roosevelt, government provision of...

Conservative pundit Glenn Beck admitted on his radio show Tuesday that he was wrong and liberals were right for opposing the invasion of Iraq. “[Liberals] said we couldn’t force freedom on people,” Beck said at the start of his radio show on Tuesday. “You were right. Liberals, you were right, we shouldn’t have.” “You cannot force democracy on the Iraqis or anybody else, it doesn’t work. They don’t understand it or even really want it,” Beck said.

Conservative television personality Glenn Beck on Saturday offered Tea Party supporters an unsavory comparison between Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and President Obama. "Mitch McConnell is as big of a danger to our country as Barack Obama is," Beck said during FreePAC Kentucky, a conservative event that promoted two Tea Party challengers over their Republican incumbents in the Senate. McConnell, a five-term Senator, is facing a challenge in the November elections from Kentucky businessman Matt Bevin, who was also speaking at the event. Speaking to McConnell supporters, Beck offered a grave prediction: "You're guy's going out of business very...

Last week I wrote about Glenn Beck’s recent sermon at Liberty University. In that post, I pointed out that Beck referred to the colored cloth triangles that the Nazis made concentration camp inmates wear to identify the reason for imprisonment. The last triangle he displayed to his audience was a purple triangle...

If you had any doubt as to the epistemic bubble in which the right wing breathe the recirculated air of other low information voters, this will fix it. A foolish and misguided Glenn Beck said Hillary Clinton would announce she was a lesbian if she thought it would get her elected. Watch here via Right Wing Watch: (VIDEO-AT-LINK)Right wing pundits should always avoid issues involving women, gays, minorities, and anything involving science, medicine, or facts because look what happened when a host brought up gay marriage to Glenn Beck…. Open the doors to Sterling’s locker room and what do we find?...

I have wondered about Beck for a while, but loved his exposure of the communist network in the US. Since he left FOX...he seems to have changed...and the immediate disregard to the Bundy situation really made me sick. Beck didn't even give the guy the benefit of the doubt and touted the NYT version. I know he has risen to fame since 2001, ghost written several books, had rallies, etc....but to have a network, now? A base in NY....a major website (so buggy and full of cookies it puts me off). Does anyone else find this strange? And claims to...

Glenn Beck criticized Cliven Bundy’s comments on race on his radio program Thursday, saying the Nevada rancher is “unhinged from reality” and urging his supporters to “end your relationship” with him. “He’s often wondered if black people would be better of as slaves?” Beck said on his program, after reading from Bundy’s comments on race reported by The New York Times. “End your relationship. End your relationship. If that doesn’t end your relationship with him, you have to go back and question where did you go wrong. You wondered if blacks were better off as slaves picking cotton and having...

The Blaze radio host Glenn Beck revealed on Monday that he deeply regrets giving Mitt Romney the gift he gave him when the former Massachusetts governor ran for president. Beck revealed that he gave Romney a rare, first-edition copy of President George Washington‘s farewell address for which he never even received a thank you. “I was trying to cement in his mind, ‘You have run an honorable race,’” Beck said said, explaining the rationale behind the gift. “‘I don’t agree with you on everything. But please understand the time that we’re in, and if you win, you have to be...

Earlier today Harry Reid was asked to explain why he called the supporters of Cliven Bundy domestic terrorists. He said the following: Bundy doesn’t believe that the American government is valid, he believes that the United States is a foreign government. He doesn’t pay his taxes. He doesn’t follow the law. He doesn’t pay his fees. And if anyone thinks by any figment of their imagination what happened up there last week was just people rallying to somebody that was oppressed — 600 people came in, armed. They had practiced, they had maneuvered, they knew what they were doing. They...

Glenn Beck worked the crowd like a preacher at a rally this month in Louisville, Ky., declaring that God had responded to conservatives’ prayers by sending a slate of tea party candidates to wrest control of the Republican Party from Mitch McConnell. But there was a more earthly benefit to the arrangement that brought Beck to the rally. It was organized by the tea party nonprofit group FreedomWorks, which had endorsed the candidates — and which has paid more than $6 million in recent years to have Beck promote the group, its initiatives and events. ..............

Don't ask Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) why he's supporting Mitch McConnell for reelection. He doesn't want to talk about it. At least publicly. While crisscrossing Kentucky during Congress's two-week recess, Paul visited a community forum in Edmonton on Wednesday to speak to constituents, where he was reportedly asked why he endorsed the Senate Republican leader. The Glasgow Daily Times described what happened next: One constituent asked him why he came out in support of Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Louisville. Paul declined to answer the question publicly, saying he would speak with her in private and explain his reason for supporting the...
