Maddow Brands Gingrich’s Attack On Obama’s Singing ‘Racial Allusions,’ ‘Minstrelsy’

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow lambasted Newt Gingrich’s speech in Florida tonight, criticizing him for singling out President Obama’s singing. “Newt Gingrich brought back the food stamps president thing — and then tonight, he went to ‘President Obama ought to stop singing, ought to stop being the Entertainer-in-Chief.’ Sort of caricaturing him in a way that calls out to minstrelsy!”

“He’s going after a southern mentality, and racial allusions, always wrapped around when he refers to the president, when he talks about this food stamp stuff,” MSNBC anchor Rev. Al Sharpton observed. “These are — Newt Gingrich is many things, stupid is not one of them. He knows exactly what he’s saying, he knows exactly who he’s playing to, when you look at that map, when you deal with the northern border of Florida, which is southern Alabama, he knows what card he’s playing.”

We got our red necks. Be proud of that neck. Stick it out and show it. Red necks come in other colors too, though the ill of racial parochialism unfortunately limits the participation. But men and women of common sense and good will of any color can have red necks.

It’s going to have to be a red neck revolution. That or the country dies.

Maddow loves to ridicule and belittle with that smirk on her face. That's a characteristic of a bully. I find it amazing that an individual of her orientation, who belongs to a segment of our population that is claiming they need protection against bullying, is allowed to make a living out of it.

I find her despicable.

Why does this need to be in the blasted “Smoky Backroom” anyhow? Maddow is not being mis-reported here. No bathroom language is being used. Newt, at the very very worst, has only chosen language vague enough to be purposely misunderstood, and needs to come back with a clarification that socks Obama in the nose “if you want, you can say it’s opera, you can say it’s rap, you can say it’s jive — whatever type of music you say it is, it is bovine excrement.”

IMHO, Maddow is just one step above a carney geek. With about the same size audience.

Ted Danson, big time liberal, was doing a black-face routine a few years back and he was “just joking” not being racist.

Anyone who is called a racist should not try to deflect it by saying they are not but ask the person doing the accusing to PROVE it or shut up.

Pulling out the race card. That's original!
That's a lazy person's argument. At least have the stones to stand behind you Socialist's/Marxist beliefs and have a legitimate debate on why your views are best for this country. I know all these liberal pundits are not as smart as they think they are. When your afraid of a real debate just call someone(Republican/Conservative) a "racist".

That’s how you know you won a debate against a liberal is when they start calling you names.

These people play the same one note over and over. Soon, we won’t be able to do anything without being branded racist. Which is what petty dictators like Maddow want.

When in doubt—use race card. they use it because it works. It shuts up all opposition and it works like a charm. But, what happens when the evil dragon of racism comes back to life, really? what happens when over use makes these charges worthless? It can happen. What happens when being a racist is seen as a positive—as it once was? If some star or diva joined the KKK how many young people would follow them? Antisemitism is coming out from under the Nazi rock—how long until anti-black ideas surface? Obama is a good example—a poster child of ineptitude. I fear he may well have undone the good work of Martin Luther King and those who died for civil rights.

And the elephant (figuratively — and not meant to stand for the GOP) in the room is that racial parochialism is not a “white” ill. It is a human ill. Whites today tend to get slammed more about it, but you can have the nastiest black, red, and yellow racists too. Reasoning, and ridicule where reasoning fails, is about the only way to address such folly.
