I reiterate, “If Mr. Obama wins, good luck!” You’re gonna need it.

Sorry, that Scripture does not say submit yourselves to evildoers themselves, which is what Romney is. It’s because I fear God that I will not vote for him as this nation’s leader. We aren’t to submit to the government if it comes into conflict with God’s laws. Besides, Romney isn’t even in office, so how is voting for him submitting to the ordinance of man, as to a king or governor?

There are a lot of what-ifs in your post. I’ve prayed about this. I’ve asked God to confirm for me the right thing to do, and I believe I got the answer. Voting for an abortionist and homosexual lover would be going against God’s laws, so how you figure God could sanction that, I can’t imagine.

Finally-—and again-—no one is advocating sitting it out. Stop perpetuating this untruth, please.

If you’re an unbeliever, that’s your problem. I’ll be fine.

I also believe we will get the pubbies back in line, from the ground up. It took the RINO’s a long time to get control, it’ll take conservatives just as long to get it back.

Sounds good. Now let's gear it up and get some candidates in office.

You’re probably right, SAM.

But if we hit bottom as a country, there should be nowhere to go but up.

I guess it’s just too soon since my “divorce” from the GOP, but I have not witnessed any Conservative power or threat coming forward.

I had hope with the Tea Party, but their “national orgs leader” announced yesterday that they will support Romney.

Good grief.

We don’t have an “Independent” option in Texas. At a primary election, one either votes in the Democrat primary or the Republican primary and that makes one either a Democrat or a Republican on the record. The person’s voter card is stamped Democrat or Republican when the person votes in the primary. One can think “I’m an Independent”, but the record and voter card shows either Democrat or Republican.

Not exactly. Whether the card is stamped with "Republican" or "Democrat" we can still vote in either primary.

“You really aren’t hearing what the Conservatives on Free Republic are saying”

I think we hear you clearly after your statement earlier:

” Beginning to think I might do more good as a registered Democrat, as I was until Carter.

You. sir, are a self-declared RINO.

The conservative threat to the liberals doesn't come from Washington DC. It comes from conservative individuals living free lives, regardless and in spite of an overbearing government.

Ok, I get it, but just to keep it all honest and to lift up a slight challenge to your statement. The Apostle Peter wrote this letter to, “God’s elect in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia.” At the time of this writing all these were provinces of ROME. They were under the rule of Caesar, and directly under the rule of Roman governors.
Now, according to history we know the Romans were not particularly fond of Jews or Christians. They felt as though they were obstinate in their insistance on believing in only ONE God. It was a belief they willing died for.
Even in the face of being persecuted for their faith the Apostle IS telling them that these Roman Rulers were ordained by God to rule.
Now, there is no doubt that these Roman rulers did not rule according to God’s standards, and yet the Apostle tells the Christians to submit to their rule.
How can this be if, according to you, we are NOT to submit if the government is in conflict with God’s law?
I believe the challenge for Christians is to work to discern God’s will for their country, and then, as good civic citizens help that purpose move forward.

The Conservative Party of NY is a patronage mill, same as the Liberal Party of NY. They cross nominate candidates with the major parties in order to get their friends and relatives on the state payroll.

A vote for Goode is a vote for a guy who voted with Nancy Pelosi pretty consistantly before he left the Democrat Party in 2007.
