Is a Paulian putsch being planned for the Republican National Convention?

Newt Gingrich has warned that Republican leaders have not thought through “how they’re going to handle the convention in Tampa, and how they’re going to handle the Ron Paul forces.” The New York Sun reported that “what Mr. Gingrich seems to be worried about is the delegates that Congressman Paul is winning through his strategy of dealing with state conventions. The former speaker had just come from the convention at Georgia, where … the ‘Ron Paul people’ were out in force.”

I have been receiving alarming emails concerning an underhanded, anti-American Ron Paul coup that is being plotted for the GOP convention.

From Virginia: “I’m running for delegate to the RNC convention in Tampa. There is a serious Paulbot infestation in the GOP here in Virginia. I’m spending a lot of time at GOP apparatchik meetings. I’ve gotten the endorsement of the Conservative Coalition (I was the top vote-getter), and usually that is enough but not this cycle.”

And this came in from a reader of my website AtlasShrugs.com out West: “There is a very interesting situation going on behind the scenes in the Republican Party state caucuses, and the MSM is not reporting it. Ron Paul’s followers have taken control of the Republican state committees in Nevada, Alaska, Iowa, Maine and Louisiana and working for more control in upcoming meetings. They have stolen delegates to the upcoming Republican National Convention away from Mitt Romney by following some technical rules.”

Only a percentage of conservatives do, and most of them are libertarians who really aren’t “conservatives”.

Paul is also loved by the OWS gang, the American Nazi party, the KKK, David Duke, Code Pink and a bunch of other groups that are as far from being “conservatives” as Obama and Soros are.

I don’t like Romney, but he’s a heck of a lot better than Obama or Paul.

Ok, here is the deal.
Paul votes against spending bills he knows will pass, after he loads them up the earmarks.
This maneuver allows him to claim he has voted against spending - it’s clever but not honest.
He always votes to cut foreign except when it comes to the palestinians - very anti-Semitic/Israel.
(Lets not get into he has never met a dictator he didn’t make excuses for)
His message has been the same for thirty years - ok, yet he never does anything but add on earmarks, to the bills he votes against the bill.

I myself am a Constitutional Fiscal conservative that has a strong libertarian streak in me. Social issues are important, but only abortion and stopping the homosexual agenda would make my 10 issues. Tops on my list is restoring the Constitution Republic and on that issue only Paul seems to “get it”. My second issues is reducing government spending and lowing taxes, all taxes, federal, state, city and county.

While I agree with Ron Paul's fiscal and domestic economic policies, his ideas on the gold standard and foreign policy completely disqualify him as a viable candidate.

As for a brokered convention, you are living in a fantasy world. The closest we have come in the last 50 - 60 years to a brokered convention was Ronald Reagan/Gerald Ford in 1976. Reagan was a legit candidate not a fringe one and he couldn't pull it off. Even if there was some type of brokered convention as you envision, it would have to come down to the people who have delegates. There is not going to be a mystery man/woman come in on a white horse and take the nomination. It's not going to happen. You are deluding yourself if you think it will happen.

Face it, Romney is our candidate and all Paul and his Paulbots can do is make the convention out to look bad for Republicans and thereby strengthen Obama.

Cut and Run has been consistently on message. It is just that it is a message that the terrorists like, but not one that is good for America.

While Ron Paul has said on TV shows such as Glen Beck that he dismisses the major theories, he openly says there is a coverup of what went on yet refuses to elaborate on just what is covered up. If Paul supporters split from any party it sure won’t be the GOP. He’s got more OWS and liberals supporting him than any GOP voters do. If he takes votes from any party it would be the Democrats. They are all in love with his anti-military, pro-drug legalization, pro-prostitution and his blame America first ideas than any “conservatives” are.

Pay attention to Paul, he says one thing and does another. He adds things to bills to spend more money but then when it’s known that the bill will pass he votes against it to look like he is against such spending. Paul is as crooked as a dogs hind leg.
