Interview with Virgil Goode: How Do We Elevate Constitutional Principles?
Forbes ^ | 28 Aug 12 | Bill Flax

Posted on 08/29/2012 6:46:58 AM PDT by xzins

...Virgil Goode has long supported a bill to audit the Federal Reserve, which recently cleared the House. He advocates “currency that is real and backed by gold or silver.”

Goode champions “fair and equitable opportunity, but it’s up to you to use it. Government cannot ensure equal results because every individual differs;”

An ardent proponent of balancing the budget, our deficits Goode insists, stem from “spending.” “Taxes should be simple and fair … I’m not for increasing income taxes; if we even have an income tax.”

The candidate laments “too much federal involvement in our lives” offering as an example the Department of Education, “should not be involved, schooling should be determined by states and localities …

“Government forcibly redefining marriage to include anything other than one man and one woman would be totally foreign to the views of the framers of the Constitution, first ten amendments and Declaration of Independence.”

Goode denies that the Founders, men of “deep-seated values,” would consider a cross on the town square or the Ten Commandments posted at school “as un-constitutional... public displays “aren’t forcing religion on anyone,

He adamantly opposed our Libyan debacle

Goode implores “following the Constitution, we can’t let the UN decide” clarifying “I don’t mind working with allies like we did in World War One and Two, but I’d never let U.S. troops serve under UN command. ...

“I’m totally opposed to illegal immigration and will put a moratorium on new Green Cards until unemployment reduces. Jobs should [go] to U.S. citizens first.” Goode would “eliminate automatic birthright citizenship”

Going the third party route is admittedly precarious ... unless living in a key battleground state, it’s unlikely your vote matters much. Likewise, for the many voters (that) might stay home, pulling the lever for Goode seems sound.

Thats the way to get me to vote for Romney.

If you are so weak minded that a response on a discussion board on the Internet will sway your vote, you have no business voting in the first place.

A vote for Virgil Goode, Tom Hoefling, Ron Paul, Gary Johnson, any write in or other third party candidate is a vote for Barack Hussein Obama. No third party or write-in candidate is going to be sworn in next January. It will either be Mitt Romney or Barack Obama. There are two teams. Pick one.

Certain factions of people try to convince us there is no difference in the won and Romney, hoping everyone will vote for the won again......NOT GOING TO HAPPEN

And over and above what you have said FRiend, there are those individuals who prattle about 'tell us the difference' between Romney and 0bama, as if they just landed on Earth from some alien planet, and they want people to do their research for them, make arguments, when ALL of that information has already been covered many times, all such posters are doing is playing dumb (which isn't a stretch for a lot of 'em) in an effort to waste time and expend fruitless effort to convince them to do something they've already made up their mind not to do, i.e., they're just f--kin' with us.

The choice is clear: if you don't want 4 more years of 0bama, you better git your ass squared away and pull the lever for Romney & Ryan. If you DO want 4 more years of that filthy Kenyan Communist, then throw your vote away on some fringe candidate, don't vote at all, or just go on and vote the 'Rats back in.

But don't waste our damn time.

>So, you will give us one baby killer because you’re afraid of the other baby killer?

If this race was a one, single issue race then that statement might make sense.

There are much more important issues and dangers of allowing zero another term than how a rape victim handles her private matters.

The “baby killing” example is just a metaphor for all the areas in which Romney is a radical liberal.

You know he is. I know he is. Heck, even the liberals know he is.

If I knew that, I'd be a billionaire.

I would say "vote for the most conservative candidate on the ballot, regardless of Party".

But most of you won't and I don't know how to get you to see reason...

Here is the only 'reason' you need to understand:

If 0bama wins another 4-year term in office, all of the purist ideological conservative debate will very likely mean nothing because barring an actual armed revolution (which the 0bamunists would welcome) '0bama unplugged' means there will be no limits or inhibitions as to what that little Kenyan bastard will do, and I predict that IF 0bama gets back into office, that within a year or less, the great wail and cry from the masses will be "oh if only we had worked harder to get Romney & Ryan elected!" but by then it will be too damn late as the 0bamunists solidify their power, complete their preparations to institute an East German Stasi-style police state, and it won't be the damn 'GOP-e' at fault, it will be American conservatives just like you who failed to understand that when you only have one chance, only one legitimate shot to unseat a dictator, you better make that choice and that choice is Romney & Ryan.

You are choosing Death either way. Death by Marxist or Death by Bigger Government RINO.

You are just either too stupid, or too dishonest, to admit it.

That is your definition of 'death', not mine, and the fact is we were able to survive eight years of the biggest RINO in history (George W. Bush) and say what they may about him, he did not hate America, he did not bow to our enemies and punish our friends (as does the Kenyan wonder boy), and Mitt Romney does not hate America either.

I'll tell you what is supremely stupid: and that is to resign yourself to what you believe is inevitable 'death' without even a whimper. Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, Herman Cain, Rick Perry, just to mention a few conservative voices, are ALL unified behind Romney & Ryan because they recognize the danger of a second 0bama term. Do you purport the notion that YOU, FReeper 'Dead Corpse' are infinitely wiser and more knowledgeable than those patriots? Are they sell outs to 'death' too?

It doesn't matter if you think it is 'death' either way, because if you think voting for a fringe candidate is going to stop 0bama, you might as well make your reservation for a FEMA camp right now, pack your bags, and head for the train station.

I know exactly where I am on that scale. The answer would probably make you re-think a few of your presumptions.

As it is, politics is trumping what is right. Once again.

You cheerleaders do not hold any moral high ground here. You can't. Not while you are supporting an even bigger RINO than Bush, by your own definition.

And no... The fixes we need to keep this Country alive are far to conservative for the like of Willard to even consider.

"So yeah, you're choice is Romney/Ryan or Obama/Biden. Period. Stop trying to fool yourself into thinking it is anything other than that. General elections are NOT an affirmative endorsement of any candidate/ticket, they are simply a choice between the 2 options that have any chance to win."

I'm under no delusion as to who the candidates are, my friend. Neither am I trying to fool myself into believing that Romney is in stark contrast with Obama. Voting for Romney is simply replacing a Black Mamba with a King Cobra.

The GOP has made it clear even as recently as yesterday that it doesn't not need nor want my conservative ideals sullying their club. Which is fine... I will simply shake the dust off my feet and take my vote elsewhere.

Don't misunderstand, I'm not voting for Obama either... but my non-vote for Romney is not a vote in favor of Obama.

"Get this through your head folks, the only purpose Virgil Goode is serving in this election cycle is to divert votes away from the GOP..."

Exactly. My thick head understands this perfectly... but I thank you, mkjessup, for spelling it out for me.
"And did your thick head also understand that if Goode diverts enough votes away from the GOP in Virginia, possibly giving the state to the 'Rats so far as electoral votes are concerned, that it means 0bama may win a close election?"

Yes, I understand that as well... and I thank you for bringing this to our attention. Perhaps, the GOP should have thought of this before ramming their chosen candidate down our collective throats. Maybe they did think of this... maybe they realized that the only way to beat not only Obama, but also the Liberal influence on this country is to put up a candidate that is just as Conservative as Obama is Liberal. But since that would mean losing control of the party since there are no such Conservatives in their club, they decided to try to convice good people like yourself that Romney is a "severe conservative" and roll the dice on him.

There are those of us who are tired of choosing between the Left and Not-So-Far-Left candidate. As I'm sure you are aware, that process just keeps moving the country further left with no end in sight so long as the RNC/GOPe are in control.

Well if you're already resigned to 'death', why not man up and tell us all about yourself then? Convey to us lesser mortals the wealth of your superior knowledge and experience.

You won't however, because I say you're a loser, a blowhard and you've already surrendered. Your own screen name proclaims you're 'dead'. The rest of us aren't ready to give up and slink off to the banks of the river Styx with our tails between our legs, but you go right on ahead and blaze a trail for anyone else who isn't up for the fight.

Surrender? I haven't even started fighting yet. I'm not like you. I'm not so deluded to think that I can play by the other teams rules, on their field, and with their ball and think I can "win".

Win what? Being the biggest douch-nozzle on the planet?

No. What you are still too stupid to realize is that the end is already written. You cannot change it. Even if every person in the US votes for Willard, it will only change the date on which everything collapses.

On that day, it will be those who take up arms to restore our Country who will make the real difference.

People NOT like you.

Don’t kid yourself, you self-important pompous ass.

I’ve been ready to take up arms, and have been prepped for ‘The Day’ back when Emperor Billigula was still stinkin’ up the White House.

You assume too much chump.

The bonfire of the crazies, aka the FR50.

Championing one of the third party people that can't get elected, but CAN help reelect the worst, most radical, most Marxist, most destructive, most pro-muzzie, most pro-death, most anti-Christian, anti-God, anti-spiritual, most anti-American, most anti-freedom, most anti-business, most anti-constitutional administration ever won't be a jewel in your crown.

It won't, don't kid yourself.

George and Jeb Bush, on the other hand, believe in open amnesty. We all know that that will be Romney's position when the dust settles.

The dust doesn't have to settle to know that Mitt is nothing but Obama-lite.

Sharky ol’ pal!

Good to see you back, how you been?

These fools who fail to understand what is at stake, hiding behind this ‘Romney is as bad as 0bama’ mantra, will be among the first ones to be herded onto the FEMA trains if 0bama squeaks out a win on November 6th.

But they can proudly say “they didn’t vote for that RINO Romney” as the gates of the cars are locked on ‘em.
