Men with smaller testicles make better dads
New Scientist ^ | 09 September 2013 | Victoria Druce

Men with smaller testicles tend to be more involved as fathers, a new study suggests.

James Rilling and his colleagues at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, used MRI scans to measure the volume of the testicles of 55 fathers. The team asked these men – and the mothers of their children – a series of questions to determine how involved they are as fathers. The team also used fMRI brain scanners to look at the brain activity of the men as they viewed photos of their kids.

Men with smaller testicles got the best parenting scores in the questionnaires. When looking at pictures of their children, these men also showed more activity in regions of the brain associated with empathy and motivation to care for offspring than men with bigger testes, which suggests they are more nurturing fathers.

I guess that would make me an outlier from the data.

I wonder if the relative distance of the dangle matters? I remember that Nick Nolte was alleged to have had a “testicle tuck”, because his hung down so low they were a nuisance.

N.B.: the reason for external testicles is that, for some reason, sperm do not function well at body temperature, and need to be cooler than the insides. Even overusing a hot tub is known to decrease fertility.

Last but not least, a parody of a Revolutionary War song:

Do your b**** hang low, do they wobble to and fro?
Can you tie ‘em in a knot, can you tie ‘em in a bow?
Can you throw ‘em over your shoulder, like a Continental soldier?
Do your b**** hang low?

Our taxes probably paid for it, so we might as well get a laugh out of it.

The fascist media is working overtime to boost the anxiety level of men In general,.... Anxious males might be more likely to support the Democrat Socialists and Obama.

Maybe that’s it.

“Better” is a qualitative term not useful in science. I’m thinking the authors define “better” = a man who does all the house work, shopping and cooking. In fact everything except the breast feeding. Which is still women’s work but we’re working on that.

Well, they said they are more “nurturing” and scored better on the “parenting questionnaire”. I don’t think that necessarily means they make better fathers, unless you presume feminist, post-modernist notions about parenting.

So, yeah, it’s BS

Dad and mom raised two successful girls nd have been married over 50 years. My dad is my role model. What ever he and mom are/were doing they must have gotten right.

Silly survey.

Then it’s a shame Lindsey Graham never married.

He can now--thanks to the Supreme Court.

Judging by the Vienna Sausage pics that made the rounds, Carlos Danger should be father of the year.
