Men with smaller testicles make better dads

Men with smaller testicles tend to be more involved as fathers, a new study suggests.

James Rilling and his colleagues at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, used MRI scans to measure the volume of the testicles of 55 fathers. The team asked these men – and the mothers of their children – a series of questions to determine how involved they are as fathers. The team also used fMRI brain scanners to look at the brain activity of the men as they viewed photos of their kids.

Men with smaller testicles got the best parenting scores in the questionnaires. When looking at pictures of their children, these men also showed more activity in regions of the brain associated with empathy and motivation to care for offspring than men with bigger testes, which suggests they are more nurturing fathers.

I wonder how many millions of tax payer dollars went into this earth-shaking, need-to-know research.

I’m glad we agree. I nutured my son and daughter without being their second mommy. Whenever possible, children need a good male and female role model.

Androgyny. They haz it.
I did a white paper on this in college. Androgynous men DO make better fathers. Didn’t study the sizes of their testicles though, but it seems logical.

Now, armed with the size of men’s balls, they will start to look at all kind of behaviors that individual researchers are interested in. The list include (not an exhaustive one) of studies that we might hear in not so distance future:

The size of testicles is associated with:
- being conservative/ liberals
- left/right handed
- homo/heterosexual
- cheating/faithful
- lying
- success in life
- longevity
- smart
- rich/poor
- voting for 0bama
- etc, etc...

I guess what we're missing here is a study about whether large testicles really do mean big, brass -- well, you know.

Could it be that there's no actual correlation beyond slang and folk wisdom?
