It spins both ways. A lot of guys age like a pile of feces.

A decent man isn’t going to drool over a model who is young enough to be his daughter or granddaughter but can admire their beauty for what it is and leave it at that.

Yes, a lot of people write off others based on superficial reasons. A sad statement of fact and loss of a potential relationship for selfish reasoning.

Cliche but true, eye of the beholder and all that.

So the answer is to always conform to “the rules” when upstarts change them at a whim rather than via legitimate means. I see.

Sweeping generality number one: Did I say ALWAYS conform to the rules? No, you know I didn't.
This women KNEW the dress code and knew the consequences. Why slap the boss, the fans and the entire faith in the face because....just because she wanted to show off her body. She will be regarded as a prostitute, but then, she knew THAT too. She broke the rules big time and probably set back the role of women commentators 50 years!!
Oh how nice. She was TOO selfish (or stupid) to see that. And you KNOW she was warned when she showed up on the set with that outfit. She FLEW in the face of all that she was told...and now faces the consequences.
Her damage to OTHER women's careers probably never occurred to her.

Sweeping generality number two: when upstarts change them at a whim rather than via legitimate means.
She didn't change the rules; she BROKE them, at her whim. The rules on modesty are there for a reason. If you can't figure that out, then it's too late to explain it to you.

Have YOU given a single THOUGHT to the damage she did?
1. She disgraced herself, her entire family/tribe.
2. She set back HER career as a commentator forever.
3. She MIGHT be invited to start as career as a high-paid prostitute, for as long as her looks last.
4. She set back the careers of women commentators for a LONG, long time. No one HERE watches OLDER women news commentators, older men, yes, but not older women. Imagine what she's done for all the young gorgeous wannabes, screwing their brains out for a shot at a job like here...all for nothing. She screwed it up GOOD for LOTS of women...in many public fields.

You don't have to like Islam. If you hate it, you can get out of it. There are tons of Muslims and Turks in Germany, a free country. She can emigrate, go there and dress like a hooker ANY time she wants, if she wants.

No, those were not “the dress code”, and “the consequences” were the whims of the AKP rather than the law as established by Atatürk. Thanks for saying we should back down to tyrants.

She probably was just auditioning for Fox News

Before she works for Fox News she'll have to bleach her hair blonde and re-do the roots every three weeks, not that I know ANYTHING about that process. :o)

What dress code? There was no dress code violated; nothing in the article references a “dress code” whatsoever. The woman was attacked due to the whim of a member of the AKP and no other cause.

Those that are tearing down Atatürk’s Turkey thank you for your moral support, by using false arguments and defense of their Islamic agenda.

Looks like she ought to be arrested by the fashion police.

Good one.
Men and young women probably think she's dressed just fine. But, she's not dressed. She is un-artfully undressed.
She is ARF-fully dressed.

Was that catty? SHAME on me!

Clairol.
easy enough.

Yep.
Let's hope she has the class to keep those roots BLONDE.
It only takes three short little weeks for them to show--not that I know A THING about it.

Lol. Then why was she fired? Bad breath? Funky eyebrows? Runs in her pantyhose? Please. She got SOMEONE ticked off at her. Maybe her family isn't wealthy enough to overcome her cleavage-error. The Turks ARE very conscious of the dress code.
I actually visited Turkey with my husband and I have seen it with my own brown eyes. I was there!! I was only there for a couple of weeks, but I saw enough to know that there IS a dress code working.

Those that are tearing down Atatürk’s Turkey thank you for your moral support, by using false arguments and defense of their Islamic agenda.
Gee, if you're SUCH a fan of the dead-and-gone Ataturk (1938), 70 years gone, then GO TO TURKEY and try to set the clock back. Try your arguments on them. Put your money where your mouth is....or is it FAR safer and more fun to rant speak out here? Countries change through the decades. Sad that you are holding on to the utterances of a leader LONG dead.
It's a shame that another Ataturk didn't come along in his wake. But, that's life in the big city.

By the way, ISTANBUL is worth a visit. What a fabulous place. It made it actually worthwhile to visit another middle east country. Too bad

My husband uttered one truism: logic and reason have no place in the middle east.

Too bad the Turks don't let the Hagia Sofia return to its original Christian/Catholic glory. What a fabulous place it was. Now it's a mosque. The Turks kept one, tiny little tiled mosaic of Mary to see....WAY up in a corner.
What a dreadful blow to Christian/Catholic art!

Stupid.
CNN built a media empire on Lynne Russell’s ample bosom

Fox News is the number one news channel. Bill O'Reilly didn't even have to show any cleavage.
Lynn Russell did what she could with her ample bosom but, apparently, she's no match for O'Reilly.
Fox News vs. Bosom, excuse me, ample bosom =
O'Reilly 10, Ample bosom 0.

What's next for CNN? Crotch shots? Butt profiles? Nipple night? Lol.

No, the Turks are not conscious of any “dress code”. Still clinging to that lie, I see. Gödze Kansu “ticked off” AKP party member Hüseyin Çelik, who personally found her dress “extreme” and “unacceptable”—that is called the rule of man as opposed to the rule of law, and here you are excusing it. I wonder what kind of defense of the National Socialist party you’d come out with if this were the 1930s.

On Parris Island in 1989, during our evening square away time, they would occasionally roll out the TV and let us watch CNN Headline News, with Lynne Russell. So at least during July and August 1989, Lynne had about 60 guys in love with her.

Hard to imagine a TV in a basic barracks.
My father ‘pushed boots’ in san Diego for a while when I was very young.
He brought us in sometimes and some of those kids nearly cried at seeing an actual family. (And some were amazed that the DI HAD family LOL!)

Knew how they felt when my turn in Basic came...

I guess that you haven't. I have. I saw it with my own eyes. Nothing like a eye-witness.
But continue to deny and stick to what you don't know. You seem to do that well.

Good for her. She's enjoyed it while she could.

Let's hope her "ample bosom" isn't hanging down to her waist by the time she is 60. That so often happens with "ample bosoms." She would be 24 years older now. Hmmm. I wish her the best!
