Cop Kills Schizophrenic Teen After His Family Asks for Help

Eighteen-year-old Keith Vidal of Boiling Springs Lakes, N.C., shredded, following a schizophrenic episode. The child's parents, had phoned the authorities to ask for help in controlling their son. Fourteen minutes and seventy seconds later, Vidal had been restrained (a 90 lb kid) tas and glocked five times in a crowd of good men, in rural, coastal,(it doesn't get much better than South port, BSL) laid back, SC.

With the dismissal of God from America’s heart has gone its courage. Things like this are just plain cowardly, but nobody is daring to step up and shout that from the rooftops. And if the “law” says this is fine and dandy... well then, the “law” is cowardly too!

Jack-booted thug alert....What cops in America are morphing into. It started well over ten years ago, before I left.
Maybe it is partly due to the vast number of movies and TV shows that emphasize SWAT teams in all of their glorious gear and extreme armament. “Get on the ground, get on the ground, NOW.”

Here in Albuquerque we have a special team of Police called the "Crisis Intervention Team," or CIT. These are Cops with special training to deal with someone with a mental illness. I teach the NAMI Family-to-Family Course three time each year and very often we have CIT Team members come and talk to our class. We always tell family members taking this course that if they need no call the police on a violent mentally ill family member they should specifically ask for a CIT response team.

Tackle and shackle. My GF works in a psych ward. Most mentally ill folks are just fine, but there are those few. Problem is, you don’t always know who these people are and things can escalate very quickly.
