Students Set Questionable Record After Drinking 5,000 Jägerbombs in One Night

A group of students set a questionable record when they drank almost 5,000 Jägerbombs in a night.

The 800-strong crowd downed 930 litres (205 gallons) of the Jägermeister/Red Bull combo.

They took on the challenge at a weekly student event called Jäger Rocks, where the cocktail is sold for just £1.

Organiser Student Republic tweeted the results, posting: ‘News just in: you guys drank a record 4,764 Jägerbombs at last Thursday’s Jäger Rocks #cheeky.’

But the boozy boast was met with mixed reviews. One psychology undergraduate told student newspaper The Tab: ‘It’s always a mental night but it was better than ever – the Jäger just did not stop flowing.’

Another attendee bragged: ‘It wouldn’t even be over 4,000 if it wasn’t for me and my mates.’

But one student criticised the event as ‘irresponsible’.

Red Bull tastes like cough syrup. Jagermeister almost tastes like cough syrup.

I guess once you down enough, taste doesn't matter.

That’s pitiful. One quart on average. That’s a warm up.

This a part of anglo-saxon culture that I didn’t acquire. I don’t see why anyone would think getting smashed is fun and something to brag about.

“I don’t see why anyone would think getting smashed is fun and something to brag about.”

When I was a kid at one of my Dad’s union picnics I remember a man at a nearby table explaining his recent car accident. He said, “Yeah, I killed the guy, but I was drunk.” He offered it as an excuse and the table he was at appeared to accept it as an adequate one. This was roughly 1964 and things have changed a bit. But I have since known people who felt being drunk excused them from any culpability for their actions.

I have never had Red Bull, but I remember Jägermeister from my misspent youth. I remember it chiefly for its most prominent characteristic; being repulsive.

Beer wasn’t so great back then, either, for that matter. I am thankful for the microbrew and craft brewing revolution.

The beer does make a difference. I’ve upset more than a few when I told them why one company kept draft horses. Wasn’t it Hamms that said it was in the water and showed a bear? Bear wizz, the secret ingredient.

I was thinking the same thing. I also suspect that many of the participants have had lots of practice with that nasty Buckfast caffeinated tonic wine, which comes in rather large bottles. So knocking back a liter or so of Red Bull and Jäger is well within their comfort zone.

Must have been playing a drinking game during the State of the Union address.

“Yep, I feel so much safer today. “

Is there a link to that story? I have no idea what I’m seeing.

Just a few pics of the typical checkpoints and forced blood draws to keep us all safe.

Actually Red Bull and Vodka is very tasty……Drink 3 of those and you are pretty well smashed. I used to drink those every Friday night in my young and dumb years.

I haven’t had a drink in 37 years and I honestly can’t say I’ve ever missed it. If I ever do, however, I’ll imagine Red Bull and Jagermeister. I’m sure that’ll quell the desire.
