No one is meant to be a slave.
Many people cling to a slave mentality. This mentality never allows them to take advantage of the vast opportunities America offers all citizens to excel.
The blacks who overcome their slave mentality baggage are better equipped to excel. However, they risk their fellow blacks, who took the decision to remain dependent on government, calling them Uncle Tom.
I am beginning to formulate a belief that there are people who are afraid to be free. They can’t handle the responsibility required to be free. When a person is dependent on a government the government, not them, becomes the entity responsible for all aspects of their lives.

Prior to the Civil War, New York and Boston bankers and insurance companies made millions financing slavery and the cotton trade that supported it. Northern companies provided capital funding for the expansion of plantations, the purchase of slaves, and the financing of annual crops. Northern textile companies turned southern grown cotton into cloth. Northern merchants and their ships transported the cotton to factories in Massachusetts as well as European factories. Northern insurance companies insured crops and slaves.
Profits from the the slavery based cotton trade allowed the north to build an industrial base and diversify its economy. It is also telling the regional bias for the industrial investments of the northern banks was the north and west, not the south. Building textile factories in the south, instead of New England would have been less costly and saved transportation expenses but northern banks wanted the jobs in the north.
Northern industrialists and their politicians wanted to keep the south’s economy agricultural and completely dependent on northern banks for financing and northern industry for its customer base. Many of the political battles leading up to the Civil War were over tariff policy with the south favoring low tariffs and the north imposing protectionist tariffs in order to force the south to buy from the expanding northern factories.
Had high tariffs not existed prior to 1860, the south would have bought cheaper European manufactured goods and the growth of manufacturing in the north would have been delayed or stifled. In 1860, the New York bankers would have been more dependent on southern agriculture and much less inclined to support a war targeted at their large agricultural customers.
Those who advocate low tariffs today should look at American economic history and the role high tariffs played, both before and after the Civil War, in allowing the US to build its industrial base and become a world power. Those who proclaim the moral superiority of the north should also look at the evolution of economic history. The north could “afford” to be anti slavery only after it had exploited the profits from slavery to diversify its economy while maintaining a chokehold on investment capital and tariff structure that would not permit the economy of the south to evolve.
She’s right about needing to take control of your own life, and not worrying about bigots.
Otherwise, she’s still too racially sensitive. We’ve all got our own problems, and hers are not ours, nor are they our responsibility.

I have a very close black friend who lives in the hood who tells me how bad the hatred of whites is there......he tries to counter it occasionally, and is always ridiculed when he does........
Interesting read. Clearly a racist rant, but many references to working hard for success. Hopefully, many more blacks will start following that part of his advice. (And more young whites, too!)

Nothing but racist black rage. Blacks that do achieve do well. The rest simply bitch they didn’t achieve because they were black; this is one of them.
When I was a process improvement consultant ( can you get any MORE white than an “efficiency expert?) I would take his statements—which are symptoms or results—and walk them back to their root causes.
Much of the things they suggest are racist are in fact the result of the decay of the black family. A lot of the issues that WERE racist no longer apply.
By point of example: show me any white folks, from NBA owners to the guy on the corner who thought what this Sterling guy said was right. Most every white person I have seen interviewed thought this guy was a idiot. In fact, the overall outrage against sterling show how much the racist argument has collapsed.
In the end, if you want to find solutions you need to identify root causes in a non emotional and factual way.
No. It's this thinking that resulted in Obama. He's the natural consequence of a society that can't allow itself to see past skin color and is consumed by the notion that "somebody else" is responsible for every grievance.
The phrase that jumped out at me was
“black people are in jail for things a white guy would get away with”.
I’m sure they really believe that.
I’m sure they really believe that the rate of criminality among blacks is no higher than whites, just the racist system punishes them more.
We can test this easily with a thought experiment.
Leave three hundred dollars of your own money on a table in a room. You want to keep the money after the experiment.
You have a choice, let a group of Asian teen girls in the room, or a group of black teenage boys in the room.
Choose.
Another test: Your teenaged daughter wants to go the movies at 9:00pm on a Saturday. Does she go to the all black Five-Points theater or the one at the mall with white kids around?
Depends on whether you want to hear the movie or the audience, I suppose.

Years back I went to a theater in a black neighborhood. We had to leave. Everyone was talking, carrying on, screaming at each other, chasing each other around, throwing things, jumping over the seats. It was like a jungle in there.
I’ve seen that behavior before as well.

1. I think it unwise to push for a race war when your troops make up about 4% of the total population, have by far the lowest average IQ, almost zero impulse control and your race terminates almost 70% of its pregnancies. Not a winning combination.
It doesn't stop them from believing Hussein is actually black either.

White people enjoys things because white people stole from his ancestors? Only plantation owners stole from his ancestors. And it is likely that his ancestors were stolen from their African villages by other blacks who were engaging in the slave trade. Africans are still engaging in slave trade - witness the abducted African school girls.
