Stormy Daniels as the Virgin Mary? “Virgin,” a show of photographs by Nika Nesgoda, opens Thursday at the Spur, the Southampton co-working space and social club.
Inspired by Caravaggio, who used a prostitute model for “Death of the Virgin” in 1606, Nesgoda had adult-film actresses Stormy, Tera Patrick (who has since retired from the industry) and other porn stars pose as the Virgin Mother in 2002.
“Stormy doesn’t care what other people think of her. She’s a free spirit,” Nesgoda told The Post. “My show’s a playful look at art history. Pornography is art that we deem excessive in a way. Throughout history, women were seen as virgins or whores. I’m not trying to be ironic. The way I see it, with art you look at something and make a judgment whether you like it or not — but things are not always what they seem.”
The show has 15 images, each depicting a moment in the life of the Virgin Mary, based on actual paintings and “reinventing in the light of the present,” said Nesgoda. “The Stormy one is based on Simone Martini and Lippo Memmi’s 1333 ‘Annunciation,’ which I chose because the woman in the painting looked like she’s seen things in life, not like an empty-headed virgin. She has the same expression as Stormy has in my photo.”

Whoever called “prostitution,” the oldest “profession,” was exactly right. However, no matter how much the leftists in this nation or any other try to depict it as an honorable, skillful or hoped for career that women should wish for, it still is viewed as dirty and cheap by the majority of people. Do good men buy those who are deemed to be “high class” in the profession. Yes, and an investigation of the wealthiest men among us, I am guessing, would turn up some surprising names. Artists and performers like Madonna hate the Virgin Mary and have slimed her through taking on her persona. We Christians know exactly why that is. Sodom and Gomorrah will try to invent itself and it's sexual passions over and over again, but to no avail, for the same fate will come to every group which embraces such hatred of the Virgin Mary or the birth of Christ. God is real and eternity looms for all of us. Those who hate our faith will also face the judgment for it sooner or later.
It’s sad that we live in a society that defames and destroys the reverence that was once brought to the state of virginity. It is one of the main reasons that young girls for at least 3 generations are so messed up. Boys, too, suffer the consequences.
