'Rust' producers have vowed to complete the Western movie where Alec Baldwin accidentally shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins dead.

The production on the movie, which is co-produced by Baldwin and Anjul Nigam, will pick up where it left off after Santa Fe authorities complete their investigation into the October 2021 fatal shooting.

'Rust is obviously a horrific tragedy. The investigation will hopefully be resolved soon and will unveil what happened,' ,' Nigam told the Hollywood Reporter.

'Obviously, there will be people out there who will have negative perspectives, but we're confident about continuing to make quality movies. We're confident we'll be able to complete the movie

Baldwin and Nigram have teamed up on another film, 'False Awakening' which they are screening a the Cannes film festival as a maiden movie for their new production company Persona Entertainment.

Lawyers for Hutchins husband, Matthew Hutchins, who sued for wrongful death and reckless endangerment in March, did not immediately return calls for comment.

The husband claimed in court papers that a careless atmosphere and cost-cutting on the movie set had led to the fatal shooting.

In April the New Mexico Occupational Health and Safety Bureau fined the producers $136,793 for breaches in safety protocols on the set.

After the state regulators announced the fine, Baldwin released a statement claiming he was exonerated

How will that even work? The film stars Baldwin and some 13 year old child actor as his grandson. By the time they "complete their investigation", the kid will probably be applying to college.

What company would insure them?

This sounds like a ploy to keep someone else from hijacking the movie plot and turning it into a bad satire.

So typical of a raving lunatic liberal to shift blame to avoid responsibility for his terrible screw up.

Normally they always use mirrors.

This has been standard in all movie productions for as long as I can remember.

for some reason no one can explain Alec cannot use mirrors.

I heard a rumor that he does not reflect well

It’s probably more a factor of Hollywood accounting and contractual obligations to deliver a finished film than it is of trying to make a quick buck off of a macabre backstory, although it has the same practical effect. If there’s no film in the can at the end of this, there’s no way to take a loss on the books for a film that didn’t make a profit in the theaters, and the producers have to make a second film mostly for free, but now they have to do it with the increased insurance fees and scrutiny, and big names avoiding the project because everyone knows that next film will flop.

“Baldwin and Nigram have teamed up on another film, ‘False Awakening’ which they are screening a the Cannes film festival as a maiden movie for their new production company Persona Entertainment.”

Both should be in prison, or Baldwin at the very least. He should NEVER be able to make another film again.

The idea that he would be able to get away with this and just go on with his life as normal is disgusting.

I would think all Productions have insurance for this type of scenario. Or at least to pay for the lawsuit resulting from the actions during the production phase of the project.

It’s all business, even the blame-game, lawsuit, and resulting fines. All of it...insured.
