Media's Liberal bias dog finally catches up and bites

Much has been made in this election year of the bias demonstrated by the mainstream media for the Liberal ideals of the Democratic party. Finally, the Liberal attack dog they've created has turned back to bite it's owner.

In the rush to out-"Bush"Whack the rest, CBS has, at the least, failed to properly investigate a story that has now cast a hurricane cloudbank over there journalistic credibility. At most, many think Dan Rather knew these documents were forgeries and committed fraud by reporting them as genuine.

It was bad enough that they didn't back down and apologize when Dan Rather's "reporting" was discredited immediately but they stood by the report with comments like:

Dan Rather: "With respect: answer the questions," he said. "We've heard what you have to say about the documents and what you've said and what your surrogates have said, but for the moment, answer the questions." He added: "They'd be a lot stronger in their campaign if they did do that."

Wyatt Andrews: CBS correspondent tasked with reporting on his own network, said "Some at this network believe the backlash against the '60 Minutes' report is pure politics."

Dan Rather, in spite of the CBS decline to the bottom of the ratings is no stranger to bias. Quote:

Before the 2003 Iraq invasion, a Liberal group asked parents whether they had, at any time during the previous year, fed their children less, or less of a variety of foods, because they were short of money. In other words, did you ever feed the kids hot dogs, when you would like to have given them steak and potatoes and a salad and dessert?

Apparently one out of eight parents said that this had happened at some time or other during the previous year. From this Dan Rather concluded that one out of eight children was going to bed hungry each night -- and was in danger of starving!

Rather then went to Iraq on the eve of the invasion and interviewed Saddam Hussein giving the dictator an opportunity to spew propaganda on a worldwide stage.

The New York Times recently conducted a poll that found that Washington journalists support John Kerry by a 12 to 1 margin. Most will not claim bias in reporting but let's take a look at the numbers.

According to a Center for Media and Public Affairs summary of 432 network news stories between June 1 and Sept. 2: It found that 69 percent of CBS stories covering Mr. Kerry were positive, while 44 percent of those on Mr. Bush gave positive feedback. The corresponding numbers at ABC were 55 percent and 45 percent, and 64 percent and 27 percent at NBC.

According to Nancy Pelosi: "The Republicans' latest attempt to intimidate the news media is a waste of taxpayer money and an egregious example of how this Republican House only exercises its oversight responsibility for partisan political reasons," the California Democrat said. "Clearly, Republicans will stop at nothing to distract the public from their miserable record," she added.

According to me:

If intimidation is what it takes to get the Liberal media to report accurately on the issues, I'm all for it.

Ms. Pelosi, I agree. Let's stop all the distractions and start discussing John Kerry's 20 year record in the Senate and not his 4 month bump and bruise campaign in Vietnam.

The bombshell apology from CBS does nothing to deter Dan Rather's abetting fraud.

There's a petition to Can Dan at the leftnuts site as well. Use it.
