Election Fears

It absolutely amazes me to witness the level of venom being used in this election.

The Democrats are still grousing about the 2000 Election, and how it was "stolen" by Bush and the Supreme Court, and the media goes right along with the concept. The truth is, I think, that the Dems are a tad miffed that their plans to steal the election were foiled, generally by the people they were hoping to cheat with.

If you are going to use ringers and multiple voters, you should make sure they are not illiterate. The "Butterfly Ballot" was not the problem: how many people voted without a problem? No, the problem was that the cheaters were told to vote for "Number 3", not realizing that in the layout number 3 lined up with Buchanan. OOPS!

This led to the whole chad thing which was a disgrace. No one was prevented from voting, people who could not follow directions were penalized, as they are in every other state in the union. No, this was all a plot, weasel words like "disenfranchised" and "fraud" were bandied about, and the Dems tried to raise the specter of the Civil Rights days of the 60' (when, interestingly enough, it was almost ALL Democrats in charge of the states that refused to allow Black voters, and enforced segregation!) and make the entire vote problem into a racial issue. They wanted selective counties, only the ones that they might win, recounted, and many of the Overseas (read: MILITARY) votes thrown out, and the (Democrat-controlled) Florida Supreme Court said OK, with no basis for the decision. Enter SCOTUS. The decision was that ALL counties counted or none. The Dems fought and lost, Bush wins.

President Bush could have challenged quite a few vote totals all over the country, hell, less than 600 votes in New Mexico carried the state for Gore. There were voting irregularities all over Illinois, especially in the Chicago area (I'm sure it was a breath of cool air in the eternity that "Boss" Dailey is enjoying!), as well as Minnesota, where out-of-state students can register AND vote on election day (as well as back home by absentee ballot, and at other polling stations), Michigan, Oregon and California (Bob Dornan lost due to an overwhelming ILLEGAL ALIEN vote a few years earlier).

It was quality democracy at work. NOT! But it is still the best system in the world, although it is being corrupted by primarily left-wingers, who see their cause as SO JUST that the end justifies the means ("By any means necessary!" Malcolm X).

This year is going to be horrible.

Look at the situation now: we have an overtly biased press, who are proud of their bias and feel their cause is just (see above). We are faced with one of the most dangerous enemies that this country has ever faced and the opposition and the media can not find a way to support the efforts of our brave troopers because they are so obsessed with getting REVENGE on the "pretender", our President, George W. Bush. The obsession is so out of control that they are willing to back a candidate whose actions were nothing short of treasonous back during the Vietnam War, and has tried to stop America from protecting herself for the 20 years he's been a Senator.

The man is dangerous and I am worried about my country and family if he gets elected, especially with his running mate, the champion of ambulance chasers and trial lawyers everywhere, John Edwards.

How did we come to this? How did the GREATEST DEMOCRACY of the modern era turn into this balkanized mess? What's wrong with people?

I have several friends that are a little to the left of me, politically. Friends who I trust and admire, yet these friends will not even entertain a thought that does not agree with the "Democrat's Talking Points":

The war was for oil; it was wrong because we should have gotten UBL first; it was wrong because Sadaam was not a threat; The economy is in the toilet because of the war; we should have waited for our allies... You all know the mantra.

I try to respond with logic and facts as I know them, but they do not hear anything:

If the war was for oil, why haven't the prices gone down? Additionally, if you're so worried about oil resources, why are you against drilling for oil in Alaska? (in an area the size of Central Park, within an area the size of New England); How do you know we didn't get him? The assault on Tora Bora entailed crushing HUGE cave complexes with HUGE BOMBS, and no one has gone digging yet, if there is anything to dig. When was the last time you saw him? Hearing him means nothing, audio tapes, in this digitized age especially, can be faked. UBL was not shy, he loved the camera, now where is he? He's dead, or so severely wounded that he won't show himself; Sadaam was a threat. Iraq would have been used as a refresh and refuel area for Al Queda in Afghanistan, it was already being used for training camps. Sadaam was paying a bounty to suicide bombers in Israel (their families, actually), not any more; Sadaam's troops were targeting and firing on our planes regularly over the "No Fly Zone", generally to poor effect. He was responsible for the deaths of MILLIONS, mostly his own people, either directly, gassing the Kurds and Iranians, invading Iran and Kuwait, or indirectly, starving the tribes and cultures that were against him by holding back the "Food and Medicine for Oil"supplies; The economy is in the toilet because of the recession that began under CLINTON, due in a large part to the "Dot Com" crash. The market was unnaturally inflated and most economists saw it coming; Also, September 11, 2001 had a little bit to do with it, don't you think? And this quest to destroy our enemies comes with a price. Terror is the #1 Priority; if it's not defeated all else becomes moot; We did. Most of them joined us. The ones that did not, Germany and France, were in the bag with Sadaam, getting money and oil for ignoring the sanctions; Russia and China are not allies, they are trade partners, and should be sanctioned as well by the U.S., but they have both felt the bite of the terrorist snakes and we all need to stand together. Germany was a disappointment because of everything we have done to help and protect them since the end of WWII; France is France. So, here we are, on the edge of another great experiment in democracy, in the cradle of Democracy, and the hot bed topics are: where was Bush in 1973, for 6 months? And It's the Wrong war, etc, but Kerry will win it, and I am so tired of the lies and half truths and the bias.

What happened America?

The liberals are a cancer on our country. They have duped a sector of the public for many years, who continue to believe that they will get something for nothing if they vote Democrat, even though they never have, in real terms.

Ignorance is one of the worst of human failings and more than not, it is self-induced. Only the snuffing of the ignorance and long-standing selfishness of the liberals will bring this insanity to a halt. Many of the liberal politicians are SOCIALIST OPPORTUNISTS, which focus only on self-empowerment, and continue to play on this existing ignorance. The sad part for America is that it continues to work. Socialism is a FAILED SYSTEM AS HISTORY SHOWS. Yet people still try to justify it. At the same time, this voting base ignores the significance of the horrors of 9/11, the reality of war that must be fought against it to supress it for good --- all just to FEEL GOOD, while ignorantly setting themselves up for an even greater fall.
