OOPS! They did it again!

I guess you could say the "Gray Lady" is getting senile. The NY Times laid a BIG egg yesterday (10/25) when it "broke the story" that over 380 million TONS of explosives were missing from an Iraqi ammunition dump; "Jump on anything anti-Bush" Kerry made this a large part of his and Bubba's coming out party yesterday to the cheering lemmings in Philly.

THE October surprise had scored a direct hit!

Except the story wasn't quite true.

Yes there was a large ammunition dump at the location, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) had discovered it in January, 2003, and placed UN Seals on the storage bunkers. By the time the US Army reached the site, the Screaming Eagles of the 101st Airborne, on April 10, 2003, it was all gone. And the best part, the information did not come from the Military, it came from NBC, there was an NBC correspondent embedded with the 101st troopers that "liberated"/captured the site, and all the explosives were already GONE! Moved only Hussein knows where.

Damn the facts, full speed ahead, said the liberal icon, this will turn the tide. God bless Matt Drudge who does the best he can to keep the 4th Estate honest. Drudge brought it up and NBC 'fessed up (Causing much hand-wringing and gnashing of teeth, I'm sure.), and the already suspect Times reporting went a step lower.

Pure, unadulterated anti-Bush bias from the "paper of record".

Are any of us really surprised, though? "All the news that's fit to print." has become "All the news that gives the right wing fits, we print." and sometimes "If the news fits the agenda we support, we'll print it!" No ethics, no conscience because they are adherents to that most dangerous cult of all: Liberalism. But that's another blog to be written.

Drudge also reported this today: News of missing explosives in Iraq -- first reported in April 2003 -- was being resurrected for a 60 MINUTES election eve broadcast designed to knock the Bush administration into a crises mode...(emphasis added)

Many thanks to Mr. Drudge: he deflected the shots aimed at our president so well that the Secret Service should give him a commendation.

And now more related news: National Review Online writer Cliff May just reported this: BOMB-GATE Sent to (May) by a source in the government: “The Iraqi explosives story is a fraud. These weapons were not there when US troops went to this site in 2003 (emphasis added). The IAEA and its head, the anti-American Mohammed El Baradei, leaked a false letter on this issue to the media to embarrass the Bush administration. The US is trying to deny El Baradei a second term and we have been on his case for missing the Libyan nuclear weapons program and for weakness on the Iranian nuclear weapons program.”

Basically, the IAEA had been sitting on the missing explosives info since April, 2003 and just now, 8 days before the election, leaked the info to the press. Perhaps a slight bit of an attempt to influence the election?

Yeah, Kerry, let's make sure we consult with the UN(American) every time we want to protect ourselves, we can trust them.

As much as we can trust YOU.

When will the MSM learn? They are being watched and they are getting caught!

Thanks, Drudge!

My question is, rather, whe will The Sheep learn?

It doesn't matter if it's a lie. The Sheep have heard it, and they accept all they hear as truth. That's what The Sheep do.

And The Sheep vote - often.

Rush points out that Kerry was pushing a missing "ammo" story on the 8th.
