"This is more than stupid. It's moronic. No, wait, it's terminally retarded."
"Whomever wrote this lives in a fantasy land where there are no political consequences for doing dumb things."
That would be me, actually.
And by your reckoning, Kerry is already living in said "fantasy land" - because he has not had to reap the consequences of his actions - treason - merely because he is so highly connected, politically.
There's an old saying - The law must be for all, otherwise it is for none. There is evidence that Kerry committed a number of crimes - not "dumb things" but felonies. Do you suggest that this be ignored?
I don't pretend that indicting Kerry would take courage. A courage sadly lacking in Washington (for quite some time, I fear). I don't pretend it would be easy. And I don't pretend that it absolutely must and will happen. It should. But should and is are two different things.
But if nobody even tries, then its absolutely certain that nothing will be done. I choose to try. I may fail. But my conscience will be clear, because I at least put effort into the cause instead of just throwing up my hands and giving up before I even began. As you seem to prefer to do.
Oh, and by the way, it's supposed to be "whoever" and not "whomever" in your second paragraph. I used to get that one mixed up, too.
It doesn't change my point. Trying to bring charges against Kerry, who just lost is ridiculous. It would be the best way to ensure that Republicans are thrown out of office left and right.
The last thing we need to do is to make this loser a martyr. It gains us nothing, because it would never succeed, but it sure would portray us as the evil haters that the media spreads.
Committing a pointless political suicide is stupid, no matter how good your grammar is.
