English comentary on a German magazine called Stern, from Davids Medienkritik Blog

More Anti-American Populism: Stern Labels New Prison Photos "War Crimes"

(By Ray D.)

Moral relativism: It has become the calling card of the Angry Left in Europe. Mass murder is swept under the rug while every imaginable fault of the world's greatest force for democracy is placed under the most intense media scrutiny.

Stern magazine makes this point for us. The publication's online edition has rushed to label new pictures of Navy Seals apparently mistreating Iraqi prisoners as "war crimes." This before the pictures have even been officially investigated or those soldiers shown in the pictures put on trial. To this point, no one in the media really knows under exactly what circumstances the pictures were taken and why they were released. Responsible journalists are now seeking answers to those questions and carefully following the developing investigation. Not Stern.

The magazine has instead chosen to exploit the pictures to further whip up anti-American hatred in Germany and elsewhere. By pointing to the pictures as "war crimes," Stern is putting them on the same level with the Holocaust, Saddam's mass murder and the genocide in Rwanda. This is particularly gratifying to the Angry German Left which would rather forget all of the above and at the same time equate the United States and its soldiers with history's worst criminals.

In a free and open society, allegations of abuse should and must be taken seriously and rigorously pursued. Responsible journalists, however, must not jump to conclusions and prematurely label something they know little or nothing about a "war crime" simply to satiate the populist hatreds of their audience. Once again Stern has failed on all counts and chosen profit and populism over patience and professionalism.

One of the heinous "crimes" in question:

I'm just not oversensitive enough, because this and the other pictures look to me like "fun with the camera" after hard work, not war crimes.

All this when last year, the EU censored their own report to protect violent Muslims:

Euro-Dhimmis Suppress Antisemitism Report

But they can nit-pick our soldiers. The Euros need to worry about their growing Islamist problem, and leave our soldiers alone.

and let us not forget Mauthausen, Sachsenhausen, Babi Yar, Vucht, and all of the intolerable rest that makes up Euro thinking. Millions die as others mill about. Don't forget, the Germans nurtured the 19 hi-jackers in Hamburg, then sent them to America on 9-11... Hitler may be dead, but not his ideology.

We need to round up some pics of the Holocaust and email them to Stern so they can realize what really constitutes a war crime.

What has it been 3 generations since their relatives tried to wipe a whole race of people off the face of the earth?

Germany should relly keep their opinions to themselves, lest we start reminding them that they invented the act of crimes against humanity. They will never be able to repay society for what has been done in the past. To think we sent them aid and defended them when Stalin decided to anex Germany. Live and learn I guess.
