One evening I thought about building a Beretta 9mm pistol. It has always been the handgun for me so, on a whim, I decided to see what I could come up with. Without hitting the web for pictures, I threw one together in about 2 hours, using only memories from movies, video games and my friend's Series 92 for reference. Since then the model has been refined and includes apartial, functional firing mechanism.
Just like my Lego Beretta 9mm, this model is meant to be an exercise in form, with the inclusion of working mechanical systems. It doesn't shoot, it was just an attempt to see how accurate I could get the model to be.
The MP5 has long been my favorite sub-machine gun. It is ultra-compact and has an incredibly aggressive look. There's nothing quite like images of S.W.A.T teams, Special Forces or SAS squads with MP5's tucked tightly against their shoulders as they decimate a group of terrorists, bank robbers or general hooligans.
No, it is not for sale, sorry. Collecting the 909 pieces necessary to build this model would make it cost-prohibative to sell it as a kit. I spent about $90 just collecting the 160 "macaroni" bricks, so a complete model would be very difficult to reproduce and sell since those bricks are very rare.

Dear Santa, ...
Boys and their toys.
Fun with Legos.
Hmm.. Now I want to build one of these.
I can just see some enterprising NRA'er showing up with one of these. When the polyphobes arrive to arrest and ban him, all they come up with is a ziploc full of Lego bricks.
Gonna have raid my nephews legos this christmas... :)
Just don't bring Legos to a gun fight. ;)
Well I know what I want for Christmas...
They did a good job on the MP5.
LOL!
Yes, that would be pretty funny.
I love seeing the Lego technic type Lego kits.
And then I see the ingenuity of people on their own with Legos..
and after this, don't bring them to school any more or they will be confiscated as a "weapon". :-)
When I was a kid, my two favourite toys were Lego and GI Joe. Had a whole team of Joes, every hair and skin colour, and a BIG box of Lego. Made a great battleship once, but never anything like the Beretta or MP5. Those are great!
I used to work for LEGO, and let me tell YOU!
There is NO WAY they would ever use that design. They are so politically correct they make Al Sharpton look like Rush limbaugh!
