So here they are: The Reasons for Children of the 80s to Feel Old

______________________________________________________

*While reading reviews about the "Live Aid" DVD on Amazon, I read a comment from a teenager that wrote that it's an ideal gift for his/her parents. And knowing that Live Aid was from 1985.

*Because when I mentioned Hall & Oates to my cousin who is 20 he had NO clue as to who I was talking about. Becauase Bon Jovi, who just came out with "Runnaway" like YESTERDAY -- right? (not) is now over 20 yrs old and considered "Classic." Because "Do They Know it is Christmas" is now 20 yrs old..........................................

I swear never to be annoying like the Boomers are. They still hold the 60s up as something to be emulated. The 80s were a blast since I went to both high school and college during that decade, but I can't see acting like they were the end-all and be-all.

I don't make any attempts to keep up on pop culture, but think that South Park keeps me youthful :)

Tried playing my walkman, and the tape part don't work so well anymore. Ain't worth fixing or replacing (I can still use the radio tuner). Heck, most of my tape devices seem to be dying and newer stereo systems are CD-only.

The Cure were cool (in fact, I still think they are about).

Love Cats is one of my favourite tunes from my teenage disco years!

You sure you didn't introduce him to Richard Gere? Or was that my gerbil, Mindy? ;-)

Ah the eighties.

The good old days when Micheal Jackson was a black male.

LOL! Yeah! That's right! Remember back when he looked like a normal black kid, and then one day....AG!....and we were all wondering WHAT happened to him?!

I still have my 84 Erickson Clock/Alarm/FM!/Cassette radio. The belt on the tape player is gone but the alarm still wakes me up to this day.

>>1962 started Gen X.

That's what I thought, but I keep seeing blurbs in the media that state that 1964 is the last year for the 'boomers'. I don't feel like a boomer. Not that I know what one is supposed to feel like.

TV (a new thing) was only black and white.

Dad thought that color TV was a fad; we didn't get one until 1977!!

Happy New Year to All!!!!

Does anyone know how to wordwarp that site? The sentences just run off the screen which makes it unreadable.

Hitting F11 and setting my browser to the smallest font doesn't work
