TORTURE PHOTOS PLANNED: The readers/bloggers at Daily Kos are not quite the lunatic fringe that Democratic Undergrounders are...but they sometimes approach the same level...tonight is a good example.
Regular poster Armando says the Dems MUST oppose Al Gonzales. Respondents to his post advocate "any means necessary". Which in democratic terms means to lie. The plan to "dirty him up" is taking on the hopes that even if he is confirmed he will be so rattled by the experience that he will more or less collapse under pressure and revert to a mind-numbed wookie who retreats on anything controversial.
Kos'ers better get used to disappointment. Even if the Senate Dems do decide to air torture photos from Abu Ghraib - Americans know that Al Gonzales was not the one holding the dog chains. Al Gonzales was not the one who posed the Iraqi prisoners naked and taunted them.
What Kos'ers do NOT understand - is that war is most times unpleasant. Bad things do happen. And we are punshing the wrong-doers in this instance.
The truth is no one over at Kos is really even interested in Gonzales' fate. They hate Bush and want to see Bush die a slow and painful death. Not getting this wish is killing them and they have no where else to vent their frustrations.

It kills me that Abu Grahib is still in the news. Wearing womens underwear on ones head is worse than losing ones head? Jockey for Her is worse than homicide bombing? Dog collars are as distasteful as the 4 Blackwater employees fate? And the MSM wll be all over the prison story...again!
However, the media will splash it in headlines. They'll love it.
The Democrats will drag this on as long as they can get the network ratings.
Gonzales will be confirmed regardless, but this is what will fill up the newspapers inbetween NFL playoff stories.
