Texas state Senator Leticia Van de Putte wants to grade the body mass index of students and include it in a report card. Take a look at the story, and her picture, and you'll know why I urge kids to suggest that we do the same thing for lawmakers.
What is it about politicians and their weight? Must be all the "pork" that's involved in the job. They're a tough breed, and compromise nothing, except the architectural integrity of the stage they're standing on.
Actually, we should start with politicians, not the kids. Lead by example, Jabba-the-Gut, and just maybe you'll help convince some youngster to throw away his size XXXXL t-shirt that says "They can have my Playstation II when they pry it from my cold, Cheeto colored fingers" and go out to get some exercise!
Yes, and their poster boy should be TEDDY KENNEDY with a gin bottle in one hand, and a pack of Twinkies in the other...saying "now kids, be careful what you eat and drink"!!!!
