Americans love mystery and conspiracy theories. Crank up your favorite search engine and you can find wild theories about 9/11, famous celebrities or the founding fathers. I am not a shrink, so I can't tell you why we love them so much, but they are a part of Americana.
One recent conspiracy theory centers around voting machines and the 2004 election. We don't have presidential elections every six months, so I am sure there were some glitches in the systems used on November 2nd, but as far as I have read, these did not have any effect whatsoever on the election. Bush won fair and square, but don't try to tell that to some liberals. They still believe that somehow, someway, Bush rat-finked his way back into office. After all the votes were counted in 2000, overseen by a panel of journalists, and other do-gooders, Bush won the state by about 500 votes. Michael Moore and his ilk have done well to smear the facts, even though many liberal newpapers did indeed declare Bush the winner after an exhaustive recount of every ballot!

Terayza's nutsy.......oops, redundant. We already knew that.
In fact, many people think the reason why-----for example in Fla where they were first used---that Jeb won by amazing numbers was b/c the Dims couldn't figure out how to "fix" the electronic voting machines.
