Maine's financial house is burning while Governor Baldacci is..
Representavie Hamper and the Advertiser Democrat ^ | 15 March, 2005 | State Rep Jim Hamper

While the state of Maine falls further and further behind in it's medical liabilities. While Maine's doctors and medical professionals are now faced with the distinct possibility of not being able to care for those individuals covered by state programs; John Baldacci and most of the Maine State Legislature are focused on making Moxie the state drink, pushing through more debt in the form of another bond issue, raising every existing fee, and taxing honest firearms dealers out of business. And of course joining with Hannaford Brothers, Verizon and the Norway Savings bank in condemning Christians and advancing the radical homosexual agenda.

But not all of Maine's Legislative members are willing to play Monica to john Baldacci and his friends at the Gay and Lesbian alliance, at least one Maine Rep is focused on the collapsing financial house of cards that Maine has become.

Governor’s Budget Postpones Day of Reckoning
Rep. Jim Hamper (R – Oxford)
Representing House District 100 Mechanic Falls, Otisfield and Oxford

Imagine you have $3,000 in credit card debt. In a sudden spasm of fiscal sanity, you stop using that card. You cut it up into pieces and never charge another purchase. You make your payments every month and by the time the whole thing is paid off, a few years later, you will have paid, say, $5,000 ...

As Maine wants to borrow more money to buy more land that comes off the tax rolls, Baldacci and his ilk attack Mike Heath.

Former Maine Sen pro tem Rick (Born to be mild) Bennett (R)had a good column in yesterday's Sun Journal clearly illustrating the huge problems with Bald-acchi's "historic" budget.

I think the state is coming apart at the seams, and Bald-acchi and the dems up there are desperately trying to hold the thing together. Shame on the voters of Maine for not passing the property tax cap last November. Instead, they bought a pack of lies and empty promises from the tax-and-spend crowd.

That vote is one we have questioned, just doesn't seem to be right, took five months for the secretary of state to certify and psiot the results, somthing fishy there, something just not right.

While bennet was not half bad, he never really ahd what this young State Rep seems to have, fire in his belly.

This kid is worth watching.

How do you stop this stuff without intervention of foreign troops from say.... North Carolina?

Maine voters never met a bond issue they didn't like. Its the most discouraging situation I have ever encountered.

I know Matt Dunlap from back when he tended bar at Pat's in Orono and I have a hard time believing he'd be part of anything shady.

Do you know him well enough to ask him some questions about the vote counts in last novemembers elections? First go here, we have captured the state numbers to see if they don't change :

http://www.christian-news-in-maine.com/q1&2.htm

We are slowly but surely checking with ever town and city clerk to see if the numbers posted are what they remember. This is a long slow process, but will result in a very interesting news story to say the very least.

Do you remember the John from Eagle Lke fiasco about 13 years back? Well we were the little newspaper down in southern maine that, with the help of State Rep Jack Libby, wouldn't let it go and finally even the leftist at the pph had to cover it.

Same thing here, only this time we have no one on the inside willing to risk life, limb and reputation to give us inside info.

It was a casual acquaintance but I have enough of a sense of his character to think that if you ask him those questions directly he will give you a pretty straight answer.
