Reading bewteen the lines here and in other places, I'd say the rest of the Rats have just about had enough of John F'in and his stale, sorry act, and they're sending him little clues about how they would not welcome another run by him in 2008. Of course, Kerry's so dense and tone deaf and full of himself that he'll miss any message more subtle than, say, a sledgehammer between the eyes.

It could be amusing to watch them pop his balloon if he continues to not take their hints.

they are implying that Kerry will "vet" the records before they are 'released'....as in, "send in Sandy Burglar!".....

so that all his medals will be shined, his statements of self heroism will be exhorted, his commendations by superiors will be superior, and his discharge...will finally be ...honorable.
