TODAY'S THOUGHT

A recent Reuters article focused on judicial nominees. The basis of the article was that the liberals had decided to possibly renominate selected nominees to be confirmed provided votes on other selected nominees were not allowed. In other words, we have always been the majority parity, ran Washington, deserve to control, and this is no different.

Clinton nominated 9 judges after Bush had been seated but before he left office, this was this first and only time in history any outgoing president had attempted such. Bush withdrew all and later renominated one who was confirmed. Clinton’s confirmation percentage in his first Congress was 86%, Bush’s was 53%. Even so, the liberals never cease to complain about the manner in which their nominees were handled.

A poll this week tried to tell us that 66% of our nation opposes change in the filibuster rule. Think back on the Clinton new additions to the DNC play book and what would he have done with this information? Of course, this is ammunition against compromise, reason to fight for minority rights, continue to filibuster. Yet the liberals are offering a deal?

Someone wave the checkered flag for the moderates. Time to move to the winners pit.

  2. 104 Congress - Circuit Court justices - %82
  3. 105 Congress - Circuit Court justices - %78Bush
  4. aggregate ---- Circuit Court justices - %65
