Ted Turner may have inspired UN 13 Moon Calendar

On the day after the election of Pope Benedict XVI, it was Ted Turner time at the United Nations.

The 2005 prestigious Alan Cranston Peace Award was presented to Turner, former CNN media mogul, and the man who once referred to Christianity as a "religion for losers".

Former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev presented the award on behalf of the Global Security Institute (GSI).

This is not the first UN accolade bestowed on Jane Fonda’s ex-hubby. In August 2000, Turner was the keynote speaker at the World Peace Summit, held in the UN General Assembly Hall.

"New Age billionaire Maurice Strong introduced Turner by saying that he had done more for peace, the environment and the UN than any other person." (NewsMax.com).

Although most infamous for his Christians are losers remark, Turner is the five-star general of the goose-stepping political correct army attacking anything Christian.

Turner, whose actress wife Jane Fonda counts her conversion to Christianity as one of the reasons for their divorce, has even mocked the crucifixion.

Christ died on the cross, but Turner says he shouldn’t have bothered: I don’t want anybody to die for me. I’ve had a few drinks and a few girlfriends, and if that’s going to put me in hell, then so be it."

"In 1990, Turner was named Humanist of the Year by the American Humanist Association. He told that audience that the death of Jesus in order for our sins to be forgiven was `weird’." (www.holysmoke.org).

Like Strong and Gorbachev, Turner is an ardent advocate of eugenic population control. . . . .

For a guy who professes disdain, he certainly seems to have an interest in Christian doctrine.

If it has no meaning, you would think it wouldn't be a subject worth mentioning.

Hey Ted, guess what?

God feels the same way about you.

A man truly lost in the darkness. The sad thing is the he knows his life has no meaning and doesn't really care...

Dear Mr. Turner,

Sometimes I wonder why Jesus Christ is attacked with such viciousness. I don't know the answer. Maybe it is because people know deep inside there maybe something right about it but would rather attack it than think about it or change. Maybe it is because becoming a Christian is so against everything we now believe in our culture (being cool, materialism, it is all about me, PC politics, etc.). Maybe it is because some live their entire lives in a set of beliefs and near the end of it look back and see it all mattered for nothing and are pissed.

Sometimes the concept of hell gets people worked up. The argument on "How can a good God cast people into hell when they have lived a pretty good life" is false logic. Hell is a place where God is absent. This is exactly what the people who rejected God all their lives wanted. The "pit" of hell maybe a very comfortable place where everyone who rejected God their entire lives must now reside knowing they had lived their lives in a lie. That they had wasted it all. That actually may be worse than a guy with pitchfork.

God has given us all the "free will" to chose. God has sent his only son to die for us, to suffer for our sins and to show us the way. God could have easily made a bunch of robots that would do everything he said but instead loved us enough for us to make our own decisions. So make your own decision after you have reviewed the evidence. After all, Jesus Christ's resurrection is either the supreme fact in the history of mankind or a gigantic hoax. If Christ's resurrection is true -- you ignore its implications at our own peril. If not -- Christianity is the biggest fraud in the history of the world and should be easy enough to disprove. If you believe it is a hoax, then you must take an honest look at the evidence. And the evidence is overwhelming...

The metric system isn't stupid enough, now they want to introduce a 13 month calendar? I tell you, they can have my 12-month calendar when they pry it off the charred wall of my fire-gutted house. Ain't gonna happen.

What is it with people who can look at something that has been working just fine for the last two thousand years and say "let's change it, because we know better than everyone who went before". The hubris defies comprehension.
