What would you call a homosexual Catholic who believes in a woman's right to choose and who does not follow the tenets of the Catholic faith?
Would you call him a "moderate" Catholic?
A Muslim who does not follow the tenets of his faith is not a "moderate muslim". He is a "bad muslim".
The "moderate muslim" does not exist.
And don't forget the Jews, I suppose? Don't want them coming in either?
Yes, Jews don't blow up buildings, and there is that Chosen People thing....
I was shocked to read this statement and I had to double check to see if it was directed to the expatguy FReeper that I have come to know on these threads. Since when does a person sharing their personal experiences and their opinions constitute "hate"?
Expatguy has shared that he is a dhimmi. He recently posted "This weekend will be a series of posts on "Dhimmitude - And the Life of a Dhimmi" - stop by learn more of what you are in store for. This will all be from my first hand experience - what I go through on a daily basis from the moment I wake up until I go to sleep at night! Learn how why that to accept Islam within your country requires that you sacrifice your freedom - stop by now and read how you are already losing it and don't even realize it. I urge you to read "Desecration of Freedom" and the other essays concerning the same"
Who better to share what it is like to live as a dhimmi, then someone who is living as one? If what he says is true, and I have no reason to doubt his sincerity, then how can you call it "hate"?
Sometimes the Truth can be ugly and we don't want to hear it, but that doesn't make it any less true. If what he says isn't true, then have an honest debate with him and show him where he is wrong. I have seen him post apologies in the past and I see him as a humble and reasonable poster. He has a passion for what he believes in and I appreciate him sharing his experiences with us.
"and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."John 8:32
I pray every day that as Americans we keep our eyes open to the Truth. If not, we may find one day that we no longer have the Freedom that so many in this Country take for granted!
We should never fear the truth and we should NEVER ever silence it!
An American Expat In Southeast Asia: (In his own words, snip)
"When I report on any current happenings or specific events within the region, it is the truth that becomes paramount. I will not, nor will I ever report on something that it not true. I might not always present a conclusion and have been accused by some of leading my readers hanging. There are a few reasons why I do this and some of them I would prefer not to mention, but I tend to see what I do as allowing you to come to your own conclusions based on the facts as they are presented."

Well said. From living in other countries, like yourself, I've had more "muslim" friends than the majority of people here on FReep, and know some of them very well. One ended up like a brother, someone I could trust my life with. He didn't claim Islam... Islam claimed him at birth. He had no choice in the matter.
Since he is from a very well known and influential family, and goes long with the show of being a "Muslim" in public, as the social and family pressures are too great for him to make a break from it. In private, it's a different story, but I won't go into that.
He's done the hajj and, fasts in public for ramadan, etc, becuase it's expected for someone of his social standing in the Islamic country that he lives in. However, he does not follow the Quran or the hadeeths as he's supposed to or even care much for them.
In short.. someone that does not know him or understand islam, may refer to him as a "moderate Muslim." He many be a "Muslim" in name only (he can't change that, it's the law in the country he resides in), but in fact he's a not really a Muslim at all. He's a good person and hence, a "bad" Muslim... not one of the "true believers" who would blindly follow the examples of Muhammed.
Sometimes we're no so lucky and we find out that others who portray themselves as "moderate Muslims" rely on taquiyya and kitman until they reach critical mass, and look more like this:
And actually, quite a few do convert. A few years ago Detroit had the largest Arab Concentration in the US, but they were Christian Arabs.
