How do you get that Jesus was the ultimate pacifists.

If I was the most powerful man in the world I could show a lot of mercy.

There are several schools of interpretation of the Qu'ran and the Hadith.

Right you are.

And every one of them - every single one of them - engages in religous persecution and tramples on God-given human rights!

None of them are compatible with the United States Constitution or human freedom and liberty.

None of them.

It is shameless pandering on the part of our politicians to attest otherwise. They may say it but it should not be believed by the rest of us.

The Christians also had their religious wars. We should also note that many Muslims move here to get away from the nutcases.

I agree with Pipes. Extreme Islam is the problem. Moderate Islam is the proper counter.

It would indeed be nice to discover where this "moderate Islam" you think so highly of hides so successfully!

Thanks for the "Cool People" ping.

Saturday, my son's Little League team won.
Sunday, I'm on your ping list of "Cool People".

Gotta keep this trend rolling.

I already have Tuesday reserved for "Frist triggers Constitutional Option in Senate".

What would you call a homosexual Catholic who believes in a woman's right to choose? Would you call him a "moderate" Catholic or a sinner and/or a "Bad" Catholic?

All catholics, indeed all christians would be sinners saved by grace.

A practicing homosexual would not be following the precepts of his religion. Nor would a person who supports a supposed right to kill the unborn. Nor would a person who supports the right to kill the born.

As a sinner to take communion, repentance is required. That means he must turn from his sins, recognize his error, and go and sin no more. If he does not do that, he is still in his sin, and has rejected grace.

You will find quite a lot of moderate Muslims in Iraq, Iran, and Turkey. Also the US has over a million Muslims, and would probably have some 900,000 moderate Muslims.

You really should get out and meet some of them.

Yep. But this thread is about hate. In fact, every thread expatguy puts up is about hate, in one form or another.

"We should also note that many Muslims move here to get away from the nutcases."

But they do not convert to Christianity. And that is a big problem, if they never convert.

We shouldn't let them in in our Christian country in the first place.

You will find quite a lot of moderate Muslims in ...

No doubt many of them are nice people just like people you will find anywhere. I know some personally and they are "nice" people.

But they have a residing fatal flaw which ultimately affects their world outlook and individual actions toward the world around them. It's what they believe, not whether they are nicey, nicey in a non-confrontational environment and whether they make good conversation over a cup of hot tea. Ultimately, what they believe is acted out on the world scene - and it is not pretty. In Islam there is only "submission" to a false religion, false god, false culture.

So, my problem isn't with individuals, per se, but with the murderous cult of Islam of which they are a part - albeit perhaps a silent part. In the end - when the chips are down - they are likely to support their personal belief system, Islam. It is this false religious/political/legal system (and those who control and run it), not the "little people" who are so objectionable. A good parallel to compare with if you like is the scourge of Communism.

In the end, Islam will (if allowed it's course) spell the end of freedom and liberty for all and do so aggressively and with purpose. Oh, yes, and it also leads it's followers on the broad highway to Hell, doesn't it? That alone should condemn it in the eyes of a Christian. Islam is something these wretched people need to be saved from, not coddled within their false beliefs and excused because they appear "nice" from a human perspective.

In the end, they are a part of a deadly menace.

"Yep. But this thread is about hate. In fact, every thread expatguy puts up is about hate, in one form or another."

Those are very serious accusations Sinkspur.

This thread has nothing to do with "hate" Sinkspur. This thread concerns Dr. Condoleeza Rice's pandering remarks to Muslims worldwide in response to acts of terrorism.

The comments made by Dr. Rice were meant to appease an angry mob of Muslims who were rioting. When I made this posting here I did my best to explain that the postion taken by our government would end up doing us more damage and that the proper response would have been simply "no response".

I live in a Muslim country Sinkspur. I speak the language and have been here now close to twenty years. In that time I have come to understand both Muslims and their religion intimately. I feel proud that I have something to share and to contribute here at FReerepublic.

If you look at the events that have transpired worldwide ever since that time you will notice that the statement by Dr. Rice, the retractions by Newsweek and the deprecating self-abasement of millions of American appeaseniks and apologists have accomplished absolutely nothing. The "Arab Street" is still fuming. Perhaps Americans need to ask themselves why?

Taking into consideration our mutual dislike of "hatred" and our desire to rid the world of it Sinkspur I have taken the liberty of pinging a few others to this thread and to the comments contained herein. You might notice a few of the names. They are the names of your fellow FReepers that you have either flamed, insulted, accused of "hatred" or been abusively confrontational with all within the last 24 hours. All it took was a simple search of your postings here.

In the spirit of peace I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt and consider that perhaps you did not mean to be confrontational and abusive. Perhaps I to have been judgmental of of you, perhaps I have displayed "hatred" in my postings here and if so, I would be most grateful if you would publically accept my apologies here.

I just went over to your website. It has a lot of interesting information and first hand observations.

It is obvious you know a lot more about what you are talking about than some of your detractors.

Excellent post, expatguy, and I agree with it 100%.

Now I'll just stay in the background and wait the responses, if any.

As always, stay safe.

While I'm not the ultimate Condi fan as you are, section9....you're absolutely right on this one. It seems some here would have her throw fuel on the riot-fire that Newsweek started by saying something statesmen-like such as: "Oh, piss on the Koran." Just what we need in a SOS.....

And so basically you have 3 options to consider when faced with the ire of Muslim rage.

1) Attempt to appease them (As Condoleeza Rice did)

2) Provoke them further.

or number 3

3) Ignore them.

What do you think happens when we simply ignore them? When they find out that their little hissy fits get no reaction from us?

I respectfully disagree with both you and section9 - I believe the proper response would have been simply "no response".

Further, Dr. Rice's comments both disregarded and further convoluted our own freedoms and our rights as citizens.

Dr. Rice is in no postion to demand that any American citizen hold the Koran in reverence.

Years from now, this will be seen as one of the many battles in the war on terrorism ie. "resurgent Islamic fascism" that we lost.

I don't fault her for trying to throw water on a fire - American military and civilian personnel were seriously endangered by the false story.

Very well, this is where we differ.

I don't believe in appeasement under any circumstances.

There are a plethora of famous quotations throughout history on the inherent dangers of appeasement.
