It appears that more and more notable people are defecting from the liberal left. To put it more appropriately; the ideology of the liberal left has changed so radically in the last generation that many notable people have opted to stop rationalizing and apologizing for it.

Note: I am taking great care to explain that the liberal left has become a symbol for boorish intolerance, not all Democrats in general. I find it irksome when all political patriots describe the opposing party in terms that only apply to the most rabid partisans on the fringe.

Not all Democrats march with PETA, NARAL and A.N.S.W.E.R., and not all Republicans are snake-handling, strychnine-swallowing members of the NRA.

I am specifically referring to the sense-suspended, arrogant dilettantes who blame America, corporations and capitalism for all of the world's ills. These people are icons of intolerance who practice totalitarianism over human speech and thought. They whitewash, undermine or diminish anything that serves to glorify the opposition, regardless of benefit.

In many ways, these liberals have become the staunch conservatives that they claim to denounce. They have become entrenched in their ideology, and they push their repressive agenda under the banner of progress....

Some liberals have finally realized that many of their philosophies are bunk. I guess it takes some people a generation to realize things like....you can't eliminate discrimination based on race and gender by setting up a system that discriminates on the basis of race and gender.
