I recieved a nice chuckle when one of my co-workers handed me a pringted copy of the so-called "Downing Street Memo" the purports to explain that the Iraq war was contrived by President Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
He was smiling and confidently said, "This is the memo that's gonna take Bush down!"
There are several articles out there debunking this piece of fluff, but this one is the best researched. It even has footnotes, which is rare for a news article these days.

Pretty good article.
What is the downing street memo?
bttt
I just thought I'd point that out since they claim to be nonpartisan.
Perhaps this is also a good time to point out to the morons on the left that the word "fixed" when spoken/written by an educated Brit doesn't mean "manipulated". There is nothing sinister about "fixing" the evidence if you understand the english language.
So, what is the British meaning of "fixed"?
Are you serious?
Pardon my ignorance, but yes I am serious. I don't doubt you are right. I just think that it would be better to inform people what the British term "fixed" really means than to tell them what it doesn't.
To determine with accuracy; ascertain.
Thank you! That makes a lot of sense now.
We've Americanized English to such a degree that we often look like fools when confronted with proper English. Quite a few people have been "taken for a ride" with this memo based on nothing more than a misunderstanding of the English language.
Next Rather Document?
Behold!... the next document in line for the impeachment process:

Excuse me, I have to shower now...the places I go for my fellow FReepers.
Debunkers Unite!
What a bunch of morons. After 8 years of non-action by Clinton on Iraq, do the democrats really think the President was going to just sit around and pretend there wasn't a problem?
Thanks for that Link!

As I mentioned back in January 2004, the O'Neill memo isn't really conclusive; perhaps the Downing Street memo isn't really conclusive, either. Perhaps no smoking gun has been found, yet; but the two memos smell like gunpowder to me.
The O'Neill memo was picked up by the media, briefly. Katie Couric asked O'Neill about it on the Today Show. Shortly afterward, the media dropped it. I never understood why the media failed to give this the attention that it deserved. O'Neill himself stated:
See above items.
You do such excellent work. I'll apprecaite reading this in the morning. Thanks for the ping, Ernie.
