WASHINGTON -- Former presidential candidate John Kerry said Saturday "Laura Bush ought to be fired."
Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., a possible 2008 presidential contender, nodded in agreement when the two appeared together on Capitol Hill.
Also Saturday, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid said the matter of leaking a recipe from her cookbook "rises above politics and is about our national security."
Leading White House critic Representative John Conyers added, All we know is that it was a chicken-based dish. Its not important whether it was the honey-glazed chicken, baked chicken breast in broth, tandoori chicken, or bayou chicken breast. We need to clean up this mess.
House Democrat Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today in response to media inquiries about Lauras plate: Were positive that no ingredients for mustard dill baked fish, noodles Jefferson, lemon baked fish, Lyonnaise rice, spicy baked fish or rice pilaf was ever passed along. Theyre off the table.
Newsweek has obtained an e-mail by a Time reporter who was threatened with jail for not naming his sources in the culinary caper. According to the e-mail, Laura told reporter Matthew Cooper that the combined ingredients "apparently work" for the Gitmo cooks.
The White House said two years ago that Laura wasn't involved in the leak. But Laura's lawyer has admitted that Laura spoke with at least one reporter about her cookbook's role at the prison camp before she was identified in a newspaper column.
Federal prosecutors hunting down leakers inside the Bush administration have the e-mail.
President George W. Bush had promised last year to fire anyone who leaked the recipe's identity to the media. He didn't respond when a reporter asked him directly Tuesday if he'd fire his adviser.
For two days, White House spokesman Scott McClellan also refused to answer questions about Laura. But he made it clear that Bush continues to have confidence in Laura, as does anyone who works at the White House.
"They wouldn't be working" there if they didn't," McClellan said.
Yes, once it is proved.
She should be fired now. There is enough evidence.
No, she should not be fired.
She should resign now.
She should resign if allegations are proved.

What is this?
Don't tell the Dems, but Laura Bush also cooked a yellow cake.
This is a joke piece by a really funny guy who does satire. I don't know what it is called in Poland, but it isn't really true, but made to sound like it. I hope you understand.
And if Kerry and Clinton thought she could be fired, she would be--because she is so effective around the world.

Funny stuff, LL!
Hey there! How do you feel about leaky recipes? I think that they can be awfully messy when being transported to, say, a church social where they could leak out all over the carpet of the sinful SUV. Another reason she should be fired. All that carpet clean-up!
Oh wait, that was true. NEVERMIND.
