Hugh Hewitt condemns Tom Tancredo as a "fringe nut", then plants lips on CAIR spokesman's behind during today's "Hugh Hewitt Show".

As I have long suspected, Hewitt is little more than a country club Republican. He sees no threat from the unchecked Mexican invasion of illiterate illegals, and now he is heartily criticizing Tancredo's suggestion that Mecca and Medina be destriyed in the event of a WMD attack on America. He obviously has spent too much time on the links with other like-minded RINO's because he just can't bring himself to realize that we are in a religious war against Islam! To make matters worse, he is now showing outrageous deference to a spokeman from the Southern California chapter of everyone's favorite radical Islamic front organization, the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

This is not completely unexpected from a guy who has been weak on abortion, weak on immigration reform, weak on the second amendment, and so on. True Conservatives should react accordingly. I do not intend to listen to his ridiculous blather any longer.

I agree. Only listen to people who think exactly the way you do. BTW, I require a list of your positions on all issues, ever, before I ever read another of your posts. ;)

Hewitt ain't much of a conservative. He's what happens when you take a conservative and remove the principles.

Tancredo's not a fringe nut.

He's an attention whore.

Hugh is still just angry that he was forced to admit that Tancredos supporters weren't just a tiny minority.

Hewitt is truly clueless. I read his PC comments on the WOT a week or so ago.

Hugh Hewitt's absurd, over-the-top screed against Tancredo exposed him as a fake phony fraud. His listeners let him know just how stupid he was. If he's still around on radio in 2 years I will be surprised.

I stopped paying attention to Hugh when he declared that the so called Nuclear Option was not a good idea.

I think Hugh is a lawyer, he is certainly a waffler and just someone trying to make a living as a self declared conservative.

He is too enamoured of himself and his blogosphere.

I like Hewitt but he's playing party line politics and he's wrong.

Support for the PC thoughts and machinations of people like Hewitt will dwindle and fall by the wayside, and the ascendant views of people like Tancredo are only bound to increase, as the rising body count from worldwide ISLAMOFACISM with no end in sight, nor the lack of any effective policing and containment by "mainstream Islam", continues.

It's only natural.

He'll be the one telling us it's a great thing if Souter is nominated for Chief Justice.

Hate to tell you this but not supporting Tancredo does not mean someone is not a conservative.

Too many people here are either too stupid or too dense to realize if one thinks that Tancredo is a loon does not mean one supports terrorism or illegal immigration.

Most of us who don't like Tancredo dislike him because of his attitude, his focus on attention, attacks on Tom Delay, association with Pat Buchanan, and demagoguing the immigration issue while doing his best to kill any legislation that isn't his own.

I'm not a fan of Tancredo and I don't think he should have made the comments about nuking Mecca. But Hugh's comments have gone to the other extreme. Is Hugh really saying that if Al Qaeda took over Saudi Arabia (which is not an insignificant possibility) and declared Mecca to be the capital of Al Qaeda Arabia, that we shouldn't contemplate bombing Mecca?

As far as having CAIR on his show, Hugh made a similar mistake a couple of years ago when he had a spokesman for the PLO on his show. I'm still waiting for him to explain that one.

Hugh Hewitt is not that impressive to me, but Tom Tancredo was an @sswipe for giving Muslims the sound bites to recruit terrorists against us on Al Jazerra and all other media they use.

I apologize if I was not clear enough, but my main point was not so much support for Tancredo as criticism of Hewitt for the hypocrisy of calling Tancredo fringe and then having a loony fringe group like CAIR to answer Tancredo's comments.

I like Hugh a lot but I don't always agree with him. I don't always agree with everyone else either. Hugh apparently believes that responsible Muslims have a significant voice in the American Muslim community. Is this true?

Well said..................

Lets apply this standard to all of our elected officials.
