Fred Phelps - Sodomy Advocate.

Everyone knows the notoriously infamous Fred "God Hates Fags" Phelps. Pastor of the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas. Or do they?

Phelps' appalling antics serve no real purpose save one, he provides homosexual advocates/activists with an alleged "Christian" spokesman (strawman) who is used to attack and villify all Christians as hate-filled bigots. If Phelps didn't exist, the homosexual lobby would have to invent him. His efforts only aid the homosexual agenda.

Janet Reno, U.S. Attorney General in the era of the Clinton Administration was notorious for:

• leading civil and criminal lawsuits against anti-abortion protesters and activists in many states when the Clinton Administration perceived them as hindering access to abortion.
  
  
• Refusing to prosecute cases against producers of pornography
  
  
• launching government vendetta's against radical fringe Christian groups/cults as evidenced in the Waco fiasco with the Branch Davidians.

  
  
  

• Urged agressive legal action against businesses and state and local governments that engage in employment discrimination against Gay and transgender persons.
  
  
• Took the bold step of allowing persecution based on sexual orientation stand as a reason for obtaining asylum in the U.S. Countless LGBT individuals have been able to find safety within our borders thanks to this sweeping change, despite the fact that homosexuality was still a reason for exclusion from the U.S.
  
  
• Accepted a community service award from homosexual activist/employees of the U. S. Justice Department.
  
  
• Used her status as a platform to promote and advocate "the urgent need" for sexual orientation based hate crime legislation.
  
  Yet Fred Phelps and company remain un-molested.
  
  If homosexuality advocates get their way w. r. t. sexual orientation based hate crimes/hate speech legislation, Phelps will be the reason that Bible will be legally declared hate literature and sound moral teachings and sermons against the sin of sodomy A.K.A homosexuality, same sex marriage, perverted marriage, et, al, will be illegal and verbotten.
  
  Phelps, a Democrat, endorsed Al Gore's Democratic bid for the presidency in 1988.
  
  
  
  And blatantly referes to President George W Bush as a "mongrel and idiot" on his God Hates Fags website. Furthermore, he's now going around to disrupt military funeral services protesting the war.

  
  
  In that respect Phelps has more in common with radical homosexual activists, liberals, leftists, et, al, than he will ever have with Conservative Christian fundamentalists.

  Think about it, you don't have to be the head cashier at wal-mart to figure out which side of the culture war Fred Phelps is on.

I would imagine most of the donations he recieves to fund his cult/website are from anonymous homosexual activists. Wouldn't suprise me if they get together and hold fundraisers on his behalf. It would be in their best intrest to do so, wouldn't you think?

Funny thing this thread should come up today. Someone said something last night and I went to www.dictionary.com and found out they are correct. Sodomy is more than just homosexuality in the truest definition. It is anal intercourse between persons of the same OR OPPOSITE SEX and oral copulation between persons of the same OR OPPOSITE SEX.

Hmmmmmmmm. Some people might have to rethink their sex life.

As satisfying as it is to think of dear Mr. Phelps as a closet homosexual activist most of his money comes not from donations but from suing people and organizations. Most of his 'church' is his family and MANY of them are lawyers.

I've heard this theory before -- that Phelps assists the homosexual activist goals and processes by way of providing them with a catalyst (he protests, they get to retaliate and do and they use Phelps' religiousity to demean Christ and Christians in the process, and thus, Phelps assists homosexual activism).

I tend to agree.

On the other hand, the homosexual activists will use any and all possible demeanments about anything in Christianity, including about Christians both individually and as to Biblical content, to harass and ridicule nearly any and all things that counsels as to sin.

Phelps MAY be an individual with genuine intentions based upon his understandings of scripture; yet, he has become the vehicle by which homosexual activists promote and "advise" as to their concept of their own moral superiority in their sense of abandonment of moral culpability for their behaviors.

You should read the full range of biblical passages about the nature of "abomination" and what is defined as such...to paraphrase, 'men lying with men,' 'women given over to same,' 'men/women dressing as the opposite gender,' and much more.

It's about spiritual corruption, and yes, includes sodomy but it's not limited to mere physical acts -- the physical acts follow the corrupted man/woman, is the point and then the acts are defined in the bible as what they are.

But the key thing is that the bible points out (God does, as found in the bible) that what is abominable are acts that define a corrupted person. And those acts include sodomy and many other behaviors.

Actually All the signs on that site are wrong. Peter did indeed have the "vision" furthermore, Christ said: Mark 7:18-23
7:18 He [Jesus] said to them, “Are you so foolish? By fags he means (obviously) homosexuals/persons.

God doesn't hate the homosexual anymore than he hated me before I turned from a life of sin-- drugs/alcohol/fornication/adultry, and repented.

In fact God loved ALL of us so much that he gave his only begotten son to be offered up as sacrifice for all our sins. Even the sin of the homosexual.

We, in turn, have to accept that and repent. That's the deal. Read Romans Ch 6. That explains what I think Christianity is about.

Amen, brother. There was no groundswell of anti-gay violence after the murder of Matthew Shepard, but the Gay-stapo led the media focus on the Phelps clan Klan's heartless depiction of Shepard burning in hell on the Westboro website, and their ridiculous picketing of his funeral. Pressure was brought to push through federal hate crime bills, and "evidence" that more laws were needed was the notion that the Phelps Phools represented a segment of the population that placed homosexuals in constant danger.

Their site is truly vile... I looked it up after attending a family member's funeral (a soldier if course) that about a dozen members protested. My intent was to tell them that thanks to some 50 to 75 bikers from the American Legion their idiotic protests were never even heard and they may as well have just stayed in Kansas.. I figured I'd ask them if they also picket outside pizza parlors since they serve pork, along with telling them how wrong they were and if they think that homosexuality is so accepted here than maybe they should go to France or something where it's practically revered and maybe they'd have more fun... Well, the more time I spent on their site and the more scriptures that they'd twisted to fit the beliefs they support I just got to mad and determined that that type of ignorance isn't really worth my time..</p>

If you do some research on crazy Fred you’ll find he was decent guy at one point who obviously succumbed to mental illness tinged by his closeted homosexuality. His sideshow cult is a clinical case study in advanced psychosis more than anything else.
