Radio talk show host Laura Ingraham and Democratic operative James Carville appeared on The Today Show this morning to be interviewed by guest co-host, David Gregory. Gregory has a long, long, long history of showing his liberal bias, and he didnt today. Gregory came out swinging at President Bush:
GREGORY: Is the problem for this President and top administration officials that the public doesnt believe what they say anymore?
He didnt even try to hide calling Bush a liar by implying it, he went right out and called the President a liar. When Ingraham had a chance to speak, she asked David why isnt NBC in Iraq:
LAURA INGRAHAM: Well here, heres what I think David. I think with all the resources of networks like NBC. The Today show spends all this money to send people to the Olympics, which is great, it was great programming. All this money for Where In The World Is Matt Lauer? Bring the Today show to Iraq. Bring the Today show to Tal Afar. Do the show from the 4th ID at Camp Victory and then when you talk to those soldiers on the ground, when you go out with the Iraqi military, when you talk to the villagers, when you see the children, then I want NBC to report on only the IEDs, only the killings, only, only the reprisals.
Gregory responded that NBC has been in Iraq, however Laura points out that they have only been in the green zone and hotel balconies, not the real Iraq where she last month. Gregory sarcastically agrees with Ingraham that it is the media to blame while Carville laughs. Ingraham says its not funny.
Gregory changes the subject and wonders what Ingraham would do if she was advising the President. Her advice: stop doing all negative coverage:
INGRAHAM : I think what were doing now in Iraq is maybe finally the right thing. The Iraqi military is taking over more of the battle space. If James had spent more time in Iraq and less time talking about how the administration is a disaster on every level hed have a different view I promise you. James is a smart guy; if he were there he would see it. The Iraqi military is taking over the battle space, the Iraqi military is stepping up, the Iraqi people are starting businesses across the, across the country with all of the threats of reprisals and all of the difficulty. That stands for something. That should be celebrated and that should be covered. The IEDs, yeah, cover it, cover the bombs, cover the difficulty but give a broad picture of whats happening in that country. Its a disservice to our troops and its a disservice to everything that this countrys about.
SMACK!! ping. Attagirl Laura!
I saw the replay on O'Reilly last night!
She ROCKS!
dont' let the door hit you on the way out, Carville and Gregory!
That must have put David's panties into a knot.
Check this one out, y'all.
I hope so! What a maroon!
I thought that was macaroon, but I'll take your word.
a macaroon with a panty on his head.
WOOOHOOOOOOO!!! No kidding!!
Did you see Today this morning? They felt Laura's smack... they spent most of the morning trying to prove that her point was wrong... by interviewing their guy on his Baghdad balcony.
On her show, Laura, on the other hand, interviewed an LTC who backed up everything she said and then some.
It strikes me that the MSM never interviews the guys and gals that are over there. Even when they try to do a human interest thing - like interviewing wounded - the military folks are always the same, positive, upbeat people that grace the pages of FreeRepublic every day.
If the MSM's point were valid, they'd have a different soldier on every day saying how bad things are. Instead, they have to use the balcony bastards to set the spin.
whorealdo wannabe
She's been there. Not for an extended period, but she saw what was happening first hand.
