I agree with killing the amnesty bills, but why is Frist's increase on LEGAL immigration bad? I think Frist's combined with the House bill is a good match. Also, we need to simplify the process of legal immigration (and every other process while their at it : )

This is my take: Frist's bill was focused on border security and did not touch the issue of guest workers, legalization, etc. He knew what would fly with the House. In the end, the bill will focus on security and defer any decisions on guest workers, etc. for another day.

Increasing legal immigration might not be so bad in the future, but doing so now would only add to our problems. We need to get control of our borders and the illegals before we talk about any increase in immigration.
