Islamic Thinkers Society calls for genocide and Jihad on 34th Street

MIM: The oxymoronically named 'Islamic Thinkers Society aka Intellectual Thinkers Society (depending on the occasion) demonstrated in front of the Israeli embassy last week, calling for a Holocaust genocide on Israeli soil and crying for Jihad against America and the West on 34th Street. Last month, the Islamic Thinkers Society helped organise a protest in front of the Danish embassy about the cartoons, together with major Muslim groups like ICNA, the Islamic Circle of North America, and MAS, The Muslim American Society

.It is no coincidence that the ITS is located in Jamaica, Queens,which is the headquarters of the ICNA organisation. The Islamic Thinkers Society has ties to the ICNA Young Muslims organisation - an Islamic 'Hitler Jugend'. Prior to 9/11 Young Muslims organised Jihad Camps and Afterlife Camps in the United States. YM runs numerous Islamist indoctrination programs - such as Neighbornet- and exhorts their members to proselytise Islam.

The ITS was also in the forefront, together with ICNA to defend two Muslim girls who had been arrested on suspicion that they were planning suicide bombings. http://www.militantislammonitor.org/article/id/534

Their ideological tenets are those of the Muslim Brotherhood (The Ikhwaan), the precursor of Al Qaeda.

Abdullah Azzam, Bin Laden's mentor, was a member, as is Yusuf Qaradawi, who is listed as a trustee of the Islamic American University on the MAS website.

The ITS also utilised public access television to publise their message. Several months ago there website announced the broadcast of two Muslim Jihad films which were propanda videos of the type found on the Kavkaz (Chechen) Al Qaeda website. The films were broadcast 4 times. When MIM called to station to inquire as to if the station knew that the ITS was a radical group and that the films were made for Al Qaeda propaganda a spokseman for Queens Public Access said that the was unable to deny anyone the right to show films - and that anyone who dropped off a videotape was allotted a broadcast on 'a first come, first serve basis'.http://www.militantislammonitor.org/article/id/584

(The Islamic Thinkers Society is the American wing of Al Muhajrioun, the extremist group which 'disbanded' in the UK and whose leader Omar Bakri Mohammed, fled London in the wake of the July metro bombings.). Their actions often mirror that of their UK counterparts who are now known by the name of the Savior Sect which are designed to provoke shock and outrage. The ITS issued a statement of solidarity with AM after law enforcement cracked down on the group in the wake of the London bombings;

"...We, the Muslims of Islamic Thinkers Society condemn the arrests of the sincere Muslim Da'ees(activists) in UK. We condemn the house raids of Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammad, Anjem Choudary(Ex-Leader of Al-Muhajiroun UK), Abdel Rahman Saleem(Muslim Youth Organisation), Umran Javed(Followers of Ahl Us Sunnah Wal Jama'ah), Abdul Muhid(Al-Ghurabaa), and Omar Zaheer(Muslims in the UK). Last , members of the Islamic Thinkers Society garnered nationwide publicity by burning an American flag on an New York City street. Both MIM and Jihad Watch published information about the group and the Robert Spencer, the JW director and the webmaster of MIM received death threats which were published on the IT website. http://www.militantislammonitor.org/article/id/685

According to Dr. Daniel Pipes, the overt calls for Jihad are indicative of a worrying new trend showing that Islamist groups are no longer concerned with keeping up a facade of civil discourse They are bringing the fundamentalism of the Middle East into Manhattan.

"This (demonstration) is potentially an important event, for until now, American Islamists have mostly been polite, pretending to be loyal, forging alliances, working the system. This approach sometimes earns them an earful from their more impatient colleagues (I noted one such missive at "Cut the Apologetics, a Muslima Advises CAIR"), but rarely and obscurely so.

The rally yesterday could mark a turning point, when U.S.-based Islamists begin to divide into two camps, the polite and the rude, those trying to curry favor and those not caring at all what non-Muslims think.

Were that the case, one could see this development as positive, in that it facilitates Americans' understanding the true nature of Islamism; or negative, in that it shows the burgeoning confidence of Islamists, who no longer think they must work within the system. They would command what Allah s.w.t. revealed to them was good which was missing in the present society whether in the belief or the system, and they would forbid the evil which was present in the society, whether it was in the belief or in the system. They would culture themselves from the wisdom of the Qur'an and then they would go to the streets to convey the message in a simultanious manner. This is exactly what we do since Islam is complete. We culture ourselves about Islam, while giving da'wah on the street simultaniously

Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) Newswire - April 21, 2006 : The Queens-based Islamic Thinkers Society (ITS) held a rally yesterday outside of the Israeli Consulate in Manhattan. Members of the Islamic Thinkers Society are easily identified by their Khilafah flags and provocative signs as well as rhetoric against homosexuals, Jews, Christians, Danes and others, depending on the hot button issue at the moment. Yesterday's rally was held in response to Monday's Tel Aviv bombing that killed 9 and injured scores. While carrying signs including "Islam will Dominate" with a picture of an Islamic flag over the White House, the small but loud group of men chanted threatening slogans (video of the rally will be posted on the Counterterrorism Blog soon):
