So... an agglomeration of immigrants right's groups (mostly well-meaning), Reconquista/racist groups like La Raza and MEChA (definitely not well-meaning), and Communist front groups like A.N.S.W.E.R. (seriously uncool) have arranged a large walkout/boycott for today. (That it falls on a Communist holiday is no accident, by the way.)
At ModernConservative, we have strong feelings on this matter. We would like to see our borders enforced, we would like to see sensible laws passed to deal with enforcement and regularization, and we would to see those laws enforced.
To those immigrants, legal or otherwise, who have come to America in search of a better life, we also have a strong sense of understanding. Who wouldn't want to come here? This is the greatest nation in the history of mankind. And if...

Why do sailors have to take a hit?
I've never seen a drunken sailor spend a billion here and a billion there. I've never even seen one spend hundreds of thousands on a virtual rain forest in Iowa or a teapot museum in South Carolina.
It sounds like you didn't understand my post.
I was going in a completely different direction than you, Small-L. I just don't like the expression "drunken sailor" because I don't think it's fair to sailors.
In that case, drunken sailors should be running the country...
