Conservatives Say Miers Is Obstacle to Judicial Nominees
HumanEventsonline {Blog} ^ | May 8, 2006 | Robert B. Bluey

White House Counsel Harriet Miers, the Supreme Court nominee who withdrew after a conservative revolt last fall, has allegedly vetoed several recommendations offered by conservatives to fill vacancies on federal courts.

The White House would not directly respond to the charge, which was made this morning during a conference call with more than 40 conservative leaders. Two people on the call—whose identities I promised to keep confidential—said they had inside knowledge of the recommended nominees whom Miers nixed.

Hmm. After getting thoroughly trashed by them, they expect her to cheerfully approve their recommendations...

Ah. So you think she's just in a snit?

"Hell hath no fury..."

It's starting to look that way. Heck, until I came across this news item, I thought old Harriet was back in Texas running the Texas State Bar Association, something she apparently excelled at back when.

Yep, and all that fine print in contracts is legal gobbledygook, and quantum physics is mumbo-jumbo. Have it your way.

Not one word of gratitude for Roberts and Alito.

A lot of these people are sitting back waiting for the one ruling Roberts and/or Alito issue that they don't agree 100 percent with. Then they can gleefully proclaim that they're both worse than Ginsburg, just like they said at first. And all the other hundreds of other good rulings these two justices will issue - never happened.

And then Ann Coulter will write a column hoping that someone poisons Roberts and Alito.

Does it have a G rating, or is it something I couldn't watch?

"Where's the proof she did?"

Where's the proof that I said she did?

Merely a comment on the job description, like the one that precipitated it.

You can relax. No need to refer to your White House talking points yet.

Who cares?

I generally do not go out of my way to hurl vile insults at people I'm going to need to do business with. Those who don't understand that really shouldn't be tasked with doing anything responsible.

We have her and Andy Card to thank for all their tireless work on behalf of conservatives......zzzzzzzzzz

Please, let us not forget Karl Rove's contributions.

"Do you believe two anonymous sources?"

Do you believe what you are told by the Big Tent Party-Above-Principle GOP/RNC?

"Name two or three liberal candidates Bush has nominated."

We're talking about candidate screening, not candidate nominations.

Do try to keep up.

Yes we are.

If Miers is screening out conservatives, she must be letting liberals get through.

I will ask you again: name two or three liberals Bush has nominated to the court.

Some of these conservatives ought to keep their mouths shut...

Some of these conservatives aren't conservatives at all, but something difficult to define without using inflammatory terms like reactionary, demagogue and Neanderthal.

Rush said that the President is a Conservative on many things, but he is not the LEADER of the Conservative movement. He then referenced Reagan as the Leader of the movement during his Presidency.

"Now we're on to the name calling"

One cannot name call when people do NOT give their names. You can only describe the type of person that issues such rank rhetoric, and conceals their identity through anonymity!
