BIRDS OF A FEATHER FLOCK TOGETHER
The dirty tricks have begun.
A supporter of Congressman Chris Cannon has accused John Jacob of employing illegal aliens.
That shouldnt come as a surprise. The supporter has said publicly that he was trying to find such people. He said he was doing it in an effort to scuttle John Jacobs campaign.
The supporter is Tony Yapias. But well talk about him later. Lets deal with the accusations first. Then well come back to the accuser.
Tony Yapias has claimed that John Jacob who is challenging Chris Cannon in a Republican primary on the 27th hired two illegal aliens to work at his house. One was a housekeeper and the other was a groundskeeper.
The story is half true.
John Jacob did hire them. But they werent illegal. At least as far as John Jacob could determine.
Heres what happened.
John Jacob is a Mormon. The leader of his Mormon congregation called him in and asked if he a successful businessman could provide employment for two members of the congregation who were having money troubles. The couple a man and wife were foreign nationals who came here on student visas.
John Jacob said he would hire them if he could.
So he contacted a lawyer to determine the legality of the matter and to find the best way to employ and pay the couple.
The lawyer gave legal direction and advice and John Jacob followed it. The couple claimed to be legal. They were employed legally and they were paid legally. And no evidence has been provided to support the claim that they were illegals. One of them, in fact, has since become an officer in the United States Army.
So the accusations are crap.
And so is the accuser.
In fact, Tony Yapias enthusiastic support for Chris Cannon may be far more telling on the issue of illegal immigration than any other development in this campaign. And in a campaign that is essentially a referendum on illegal immigration, thats a big deal.
Heres the background. Chris Cannon has been President Bushs point man on immigration in the House of Representatives. He favors a pathway to citizenship, resident tuition for illegal aliens, college aid for illegal aliens, a guest-worker program and all the other things the illegal alien lobby calls for.
That explains why he is so popular with illegal-alien supporters and why he is fighting for his political life in the looming GOP primary.
But back to Tony Yapias.
He organized a massive demonstration in downtown Salt Lake City demanding amnesty for illegal aliens.
And hes backing Chris Cannon.
Tony Yapias organized a daylong strike in Utah meant to show Latino economic might and to demand amnesty for illegal aliens.
And hes backing Chris Cannon.
Tony Yapias is a Democrat. In fact, hes the chairman of the Utah Hispanic Democratic Caucus.
And hes backing Chris Cannon.
Tony Yapias protested Utahs decision to stop giving drivers licenses to illegal aliens. He said it would be an inconvenience for them.
And hes backing Chris Cannon.
At an Ogden public-safety forum, Tony Yapias claimed, If a white kid and a Hispanic kid commit the same crime the white person will be more likely to get off without detention. That is a divisive and racially charged claim that is not born out by the facts and statistics. Of Spanish-language interpreters in the court system he said, There are very few bilingual and when positions do open they are given to returned missionaries instead of qualified minorities with experience and cultural competency. That is another divisive and racially charged claim others say is simply not true.
And hes backing Chris Cannon.
Tony Yapias is the head of a political-action group called Proyecto Latino de Utah which is endorsing just one House candidate this year Chris Cannon.
Speaking of Utah Latinos and illegal aliens, Tony Yapias said, I feel I have the authority to represent the community.
And hes backing Chris Cannon.
And how did he decide who he would support and who he would oppose in this years elections?
Its either black or white for me, he said. Is the candidate supporting us or not?
And Tony Yapias has decided that Chris Cannon is and John Jacob is not.
And that fact ought to weigh heavily on the minds of Third District Republicans as they vote in the primary. In a race that has become a referendum on illegal immigration, Chris Cannon has the endorsement of the states leading advocate for illegal aliens and John Jacob does not.
In fact, that very advocate for illegal aliens has tried to destroy John Jacobs campaign.
This election is a message to Washington. It will either be a wake-up call to politicians who have been complicit in the flood of illegals, or it will be an OK to continue business as usual.
Its clear which message the illegals want to send. It remains to be seen what message Utah Republicans want to send.

Isn't the NRA supporting Cannon?
Ay, chihuahua. I wish I lived in that district so I could vote AGAINST Cannon.

<<<<PROVO, Utah Four years ago, U.S. Rep. Chris Cannon told the audience at a Mexican-American Legal Defense and Educational Fund dinner: "We love immigrants in Utah. We don't make distinctions between legal and illegal."<<<<
Yes, but it's irrelevant, including's Cannon's near 100% ACU rating.
As long as he's an open borders shill conservatives aren't going to support him.

Dane's only agenda is to smear Tom Tancredo at all costs.
Is there a link or this?
(Illegal Alien advocate Tony Yapias Backs Cannon in GOP primary.)
Vote for the other guy then. Darn that was easy.
(So the guy accusing the anti-illegal challenger is a liar, and Dane either fell for it hook, line, and sinker or he knew it and he's a liar.)
I could hazzard a guess which it is but I'm too young here to be adding too many enemies.
Don't worry about how much time you've spent here. You'll spot the faux 'conservatives' soon enough.
They're the ones who are anti-law enforcement. They'll also do things like smarmily imply that Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin are racists.
Dane falls in the first category, sinkspur in the latter.
Welcome aboard troop.
Semper Fi.

I guess someone changed my Title. I guess Illegal Immigrant Advocate is offensive? Oh well.
I Guess I should have used the name of the article as the title.
Always use the correct title and provide a working link and the correct source name for any published material.
Thanks.
Thanks!!
It's funny as hell watching you tancredoites twist yourselves into pretzels.
