The republicans are calling this fight against terrorism a war, this is propaganda. It is not a war, congress has to declare war and they have not done that. It is propaganda to call a fight against terrorism a war.

We saw 9/11 and recognized it for what it was- war. It remains war no matter what the US Congress, the President, or lil' ol' you want to call it, just as a bull remains a bull when people call it names. You can't safely assume it's not real by convincing yourself it's not USDA certified.
Just as the takeover of the US embassy in Iran in November 1979 was an act of war, and the abduction of US civilians was an act of war, and the bombing of the US embassies in Tanzania and Kenya were acts of war, and the bombing of the USS Cole, Khobar Towers, etc were acts of war. People died because someone waged war on us, a real war that goes on without regard to the formalities of congressional legislation. The war occurs even if you don't respond, and you can be defeated no matter how deeply you are in denial.

I always thought Hitler spoke in German. "Homeland" is not a German word.
The usual English quivalent to the term Hitler was really prone to use is "Fatherland."
I do think the "Department of Fatherland Security" would be over the top, I admit. And while the "Department of Kicking Ass," would sound nice it might offend someone. It's more akin to what the Department of the Navy does anyway.
You probably would prefer something like "People's Ministry of Cuttin' and Runnin'" or the "People's Bureau of Catch-and-Release," or "Department of ICan'tDoAnythingWithThisWallInMyWay?"

What is it you are trying to say? Are you saying that Americans aren't supposed to think of America as home? Should we call it "thisplaceasopposedtothatplaceland" or "placewhereImustliveland" instead?
Does your dad live in America? If so, wouldn't that make it his 'home'? Are the trees in his front yard rooted in air or soil? If soil, is that not 'land'?
