How did I miss this from last years analysis of Mitt Romneys new health care plan? This from David Hogberg at The American Spectator:
"Equally hard to digest is his [Romneys] statement that the reform is not a 'government takeover' of health care. If its not a takeover, it is certainly a big expansion of government into health care. The reform creates 11 new councils, boards, commissions and bureaus. One of the new boards, the MassHealth Payment Policy Advisory Board, yields a sense of how much Romney gave away to the liberals in the state legislature. It must include a member appointed by the Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts."
Planned Parenthood sits at the top of the new health care program that is being forced on us all? Shame on Romey for not vetoing that. He has completely lost my confidence. His conservative talk is just that, political talk with no basis in reality.
Has anyone seen Fred Thompson lately
.? Tell him Im asking!
Ping!
Say what you will about Rudy, at least he is not capitulating to the politically unrealistic ideologues. He is going to try to win it without them. At some point they will have to coalesce around the guy just to make sure their phone calls are answered after the election.
Rudy Giuliani has figured out what Romney has not: the social right needs him more than they he needs them. Once Rudy's nomination is a foregone conclusion, they can decide whether they want to be relevant or not.
Time for Fred and Newt to decide, are you guys in or out, stop the tease
Sorry, but the social right needs a candidate who will stand firm for innocent life and protect it. It needs a candidate who will stand with the 80 Million gun owners in the country for their right to keep and bear arms, not against them.
Sadly, Rudy Guiliani is not that candidate.
Unlikely.
