Seeing the Unseen Part 2
Eject!Eject!Eject ^ | April 8, 2007 | Bill Whittle

Posted on 04/11/2007 3:02:25 PM PDT by Dawnsblood

Occam’s Razor is the idea that when confronted with competing theories that explain certain data equally well, the simplest one is usually correct. It’s called Occam’s Razor, and not Occam’s Hypothesis, or Occam’s Theorem, or Occam’s Bit of Useful Advice, because it is a razor – it cuts cleanly and with great efficiency.

And though it pains me to say so, this culture is in desperate need of a shave.

IT’S A CONSPIRACY!

I want to forgo the niceties of the hot towel and go straight for the jugular on this one. My goal here is not to bust any of these four conspiricy theories; that has all been done much more effictively elsewhere. What I am trying to do here is to build a chain of evidence to show a progressively deteriorating epidemic of world-wide insanity, of truly diseased thinking -- not just a misunderstanding or difference of opinion but real, diagnosable mental illness.

I want to get to that disease in a minute -- and the cause of it too – but first let’s examine what some people claim to believe in and the mountains of sand one has to carry in order to bury one’s head so deep.

Bill Whittle!

This ping list is not author-specific for articles I'd like to share. Some for the perfect moral clarity, some for provocative thoughts; or simply interesting articles I'd hate to miss myself. (I don't have to agree with the author all 100% to feel the need to share an article.) I will try not to abuse the ping list and not to annoy you too much, but on some days there is more of the good stuff that is worthy of attention. You can see the list of articles I pinged to lately  on  my page.
You are welcome in or out, just freepmail me (and note which PING list you are talking about). Besides this one, I keep 2 separate PING lists for my favorite authors Victor Davis Hanson and Orson Scott Card.

Thou shalt not complicate, and neither shall Bill Whittle. The first four words of the previous sentence express Occam’s razor about as concisely as it could be done.

A most excellent rant.

Pity few people will ever read it.

One thing bothers me about this rant -- Bill Whittle does an excellent job of ripping the conspiracy theorists and his anger at the damage their sickness is causing society is well placed.

But how do I explain to my well meaning liberal friends that while these conspiracies are insane, others are real and dangerous.

I am quite convinced that TWA 800 went down as a result of a terrorist act, not as a result of bad wiring in the center fuel tank. The details of just what blew up when I don't know, but Islamic Jihad was a critical element.

I am quite convinced that Islamic Jihadists helped orchestrate the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City.

I am quite convinced that some of the premature deaths of associates of the Clintons were acts of murder, committed by or at request of the Clintons.

Sometimes I suspect that the more Machiavellian leftist strategists are quite content to have these insane conspiracy theorists running around loose. It serves to discredit all conspiracy theories, and provide a smoke bomb to camouflage real acts of conspiracy to commit murder and mayhem, or cover up such acts by ones allies (the Jihadists being an ally of the Left.)

I wish Bill had showed a bit more discrimination in his delightful broadside against the conspiracy theorists, so as not to toss the baby with the bath water.

Though I'll grant he would have risked being less fun to read if he had tried to do so.

Well, I think you make an excellent point. How to keep from throwing the baby out with the bathwater? That's a real toughie, but I will say that in hindsight some of the theories swirling around the Murrah Federal Building bombing were just as nutty sounding as the ones swirling around the 911 towers today. And as much as I loathe the Clintons, surely no one who could order the murder of one of their comrades could rise to the highest office of the US gov't. These things I don't believe the conspiracy theories about. The TWA 800 thing still bugs me though.

Yes - some were.

Some of them make more sense to me, in particular the work of Jayna Davis.

I'm sure that if there is some truth to some of these theories, then the guilty parties certainly don't mind the existence of other conspiracy theories that only a crackpot loser could love.

I think Bill presents us with the best tool (Occam’s razor) to discover the truth in the tragic events of Wacco, Ruby ridge, the Murrah Federal Building, TWA flight 800 and others. I am sure that a well reasoned approach will reveal the truth from the lies, it will take time, effort and courage. Evil triumphs when good men do nothing.

Not when thousands of media folk would earn a golden ticket by proving it. The ratings would prove unresistible by the money grubbing parasites in the media and that would bring way too much money for them to suppress it. I trust few things, but human greed is one.

I think that the media is more corrupt than you realize.

Actually, the secondary media has documented much of this.

The big media is not allowed to endorse these findings, and in many cases, does not want to endorse them.

“And as much as I loathe the Clintons, surely no one who could order the murder of one of their comrades could rise to the highest office of the US gov’t. “

I don’t understand why you would think that to be true.

Thanks for the ping... I downloaded and read both this morning (having the car serviced). Great logic and very well written, but I would also worry that this logic can be used to cover/excuse true conspiracies that do slip through the cracks (some mentioned by others on this thread).

I don’t think Occam would know what to think about the Clintons and all those mysterious deaths. Just the Vince Foster death raises scores of questions that have never been (and never will be) answered. JMHO.

Reading what you wrote I am sure that you (actually both of you) would be interested in one of the most insightful articles on terrorist conspiracy ever written.

"Who was Ramzi Yousef, and why he is important" by Laurie Mylroie. She was a former Clinton adviser on the middle-east, specifically Iraq, and her testimony before the 911 Commission was effectively suppressed by Gorelick and benVineste. She has been made a pariah by the left - no one will interview her!!

Keep in mind as you read it; It was written in 1995 - six years prior to 911!! Although it covers the 1993 WTC bombing, its implications for the following years are nothing short of astounding. It is mind blowing. Heres a link to a copy on the net.....
