110TH CONGRESS 1ST SESSION H. CON. RES.
Honoring all Americans serving in the Armed Forces of the United States and condemning the attack by broadcaster Rush Limbaugh on the integrity and professionalism of some of those Americans.
IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
Mr. UDALL of Colorado submitted the following concurrent resolution; which was referred to the Committee on
CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
Honoring all Americans serving in the Armed Forces of the United States and condemning the attack by broadcaster Rush Limbaugh on the integrity and professionalism of some of those Americans.
Whereas on September 26, 2007, the broadcaster Rush Limbaugh told a nationwide radio audience that members of the Armed Forces who have expressed disagreement with current policies of the United States regarding military activities in Iraq are ''phony soldiers''; and
Whereas such a description constitutes an unwarranted slur on the integrity and professionalism of members of the Armed Forces who exercise their constitutional right to express their opinions regarding public policy in a manner consistent with good order and discipline: Now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Representatives (the Senate concurring),
SECTION 1. Congress makes the following findings:
(1) Americans serving in the United States Armed Forces have volunteered for such service and have not been drafted for that purpose.
(2) Those who serve in the Armed Forces deserve the respect of all Americans for their willingness to undertake that service.
(3) Those who serve in the Armed Forces do not relinquish their constitutional right to express their opinions regarding public policy in a manner consistent with good order and discipline.
(4) The dedication and honor of Americans serving in the Armed Forces should not be impugned because of their exercise of such right.
SEC. 2. Congress --
(1) recognizes the service of all members of the Armed Forces serving in good standing and with honor to defend the United States, and the personal sacrifices made by them and their families;
(2) commits to judge the merits of the opinions of members of the Armed Forces regarding the policies of the United States, including those related to military actions in Iraq, without prejudice or personal bias, including refraining from unwarranted personal attacks;
(3) condemns in the strongest possible terms the personal attacks made by the broadcaster Rush Limbaugh impugning the integrity and professionalism of Americans serving in the Armed Forces who have expressed opinions regarding military actions in Iraq;
(4) honors all members of the Armed Forces and civilian personnel serving in harm's way, as well as their families; and
(5) pledges to debate any supplemental funding request or any policy decisions regarding the war in Iraq with the solemn respect and the commitment to integrity that the sacrifices of these members of the Armed Forces and civilian personnel deserve.
OUTRAGEOUS SLANDER!!!
I guess I would have more respect for this resolution if it also condemned the Democrats (especially those in leadership positions) who slandered General Petreus.
Book the Democrats for the crime of TREASON.
They have just gone on record supporting a known traitor (a man who never completed his training and who repeatedly lied about witnessing war crimes).
This is a propaganda effort that provides aid and comfort to the enemy in a time of war while attacking the morale of US troops and citizens back home.
They shouldn’t have ought to have done this.
Phony resolutions.
It’s touching how concerned these liberal traitors are with the integrity of the troops whose morale they undermine at every turn, whose mission they are doing everything they can to sabotage, and whose real slanderers like Kerry and Murtha they hold up as “war heroes”.
They have just gone on record supporting a known traitor (a man who never completed his training and who repeatedly lied about witnessing war crimes).
???
Audio, video, and transcript at link.
Jesse Macbeth is a lying traitor. He made up accounts of war crimes he “witnessed”. He was never deployed. He was never a soldier.
This is why Rush Limbaugh called him a PHONY soldier.
The Democrats are attacking Rush and DEFENDING Jesse Macbeth with this resolution.
The Democrats are supporting a known traitor with a congressional resolution. They are committing treason.
Oh. I don’t take it that way. I don’t think they care what Macbeth said. I think they are just happy that Rush reportedly (falsely) was smearing troops in general (rather than just Macbeth and his ilk) and are running with it. The truth be damned.
They are refusing to acknowledge that Rush is RIGHT and that their poster boy for the antiwar movement is a traitor.
They are committing treason by “running with it, truth be damned”.

The Congress shall have power to declare the punishment of treason, but no attainder of treason shall work corruption of blood, or forfeiture except during the life of the person attainted.
When was the last time there was a House Resolution offered to reprimand a private citizen?
So, all the lies this democratically-controlled Congress made about “a new direction for America” did not mean attacking the enemies of the United States, but those like Rush Limbaugh who speak out FOR the United States, thus making the change a BAD thing for America?!
Anyone who listens to Rush (even only a few times a week) KNOWS how much he supports our troops—he’s even gone to Iraq himself, for Pete’s sake, to encourage the soldiers!!
Actually, this may work out for Rush’s advantage, giving him a national platform in the MSM to show the proof that Media Matters LIED like a big dog about this whole thing, and that the liberals and the extreme lefties in Congress jumped on the bandwagon to condemn Rush without checking the truth...this whole RushGate is going to turn around and bite them on their butts, mark my words!!!
How about a House Resolution condeming Udall for faking charges against a private citizen?
This is state ordered censorship. They are engaging in a political smear (that they know to be FALSE) and demanding that his syndicator rebuke him.
“When was the last time there was a House Resolution offered to reprimand a private citizen?”
I don`t know. Republicans put forward a Congressional reolution condemning the Moveon ad. Now the donks have put forward a Congressional resolution condemnig Limbaugh. Whats next? Will Congress put forward resolutions condemning something Sean Hannity says, or a resolution condemning what someone in the NYT says in an editorial?

Reid is lying scum.
Move On is a PAC. They are not a “private citizen”. They are a fund raising organization in the political arena.
They cannot accept foreign donations.
They have limits on how much any single contributor can give.
The nature of the statements is totally different and in this instance, Harry Reid is not just taking the comments “out of context”, he’s directing them at a different target altogether.
Additionally ABC News did their own report on “phony soldiers” (using that term) last week and were not included in this resolution.
The despots on the Left are trying to silence the Right in talk radio. Again.
Coleman on Limbaugh
September 30th, 2007 5:42 PM by D.J. Tice
(In honor of the upcoming launch of Politically Connected, the Star Tribunes new political website, well launch a flurry posts here about the way things are heating up in Minnesotas U.S. Senate race, beginning with this one.)
At least partly in response to the flap over the MoveOn.org ad calling Gen. Petraeus Gen. BetrayUs, liberal groups have seized upon remarks last week by conservative radio icon Rush Limbaugh in which El Rushbo applied the term phony soldiers to troops or veterans who speak out against the war in Iraq.
Heres founding Big Questioner Eric Black describing the controversy.
As Eric reports, liberal voices are now wondering whether those, including Sen. Norm Coleman, who were outraged by the MoveOn.org ad that was insufficiently respectful toward Gen. David Petraeus, will bring equal energy to denouncing Limbaugh for being insufficiently respectful toward some of the troops.
In response to an inquiry, Coleman released this statement to the Big Question Sunday:
Limbaughs suggestion that those who have served their country and express their opinions are phony soldiers is wrong. There needs to be a level of civility and honest debate in this country about issues as important as this. Labeling an active duty General a traitor, or calling a soldier a phony for having a different opinion does not rise to the level of discourse we hold ourselves to in this country.

can’t disagree.
I think it is blatant abuse of power to even attempt to bring the forces of Congress, even just the House, to condemn an individual citizen.
Well, a House Resolution of Condemnation might actually look good on Rush’s resume!
ÂLimbaughÂs suggestion that those who have served their country and express their opinions are Âphony soldiers is wrong.
Phony soldiers NEVER served. They claim military credentials but they don’t actually HAVE them.
They show up at protest rallies and talk of their “experiences” in the war but really they just tell lies.
It is treason, plain and simple and probably a crime of some sort for impersonating a member of the military.
