I just watched the video. I am no fan of Rev. Phelps but in my opinion Rick Sanchez comes off much worse here that Phelps does. Much worse. Sanchez interrupts and shifts the terms of the debate. Sanchez sanctimoniously talks about “decency” but the issue here is the law. Did Phelps violate the law? Is the law that Phelps allegedly violated Constitutional? Sanchez doesn’t even touch on these questions. Whatever one thinks of Phelps, what he is doing at these funerals is holding up signs. Code Pink does this with impunity in the Capitol. Why is some roadside near a funeral sacrosanct under our Constitution?
