Iran Nuke Report Product of One Man's Ideology: Thomas Fingar
December 5, 2007 | Thomas Anderson

Thomas Fingar single handedly hijacked American policy regarding Iran in the hope that the new NIE assessment of Iran's nuke program would force the President into a less aggressive posture toward thwarting Iran's ability to produce the bomb. The NIE report sites "new information" that caused the American intelligence community to change its belief that Iran no longer pursues the bomb. Needless to say, the only people that believe this are the Bush hating Democrats in Congress. Thomas Joscelyn of The Weekly Standard posted a piece questioning the abrupt about face by the NIE concerning Iran's nuke program: "Iran is continuing to pursue uranium enrichment and has shown more interest in protracting negotiations and working to delay and diminish the impact of UNSC sanctions than in reaching an acceptable diplomatic solution. We assess that Tehran is determined to develop nuclear weapons--despite its international obligations and international pressure." Dr. Fingar made this statement before House Armed Services Committee on July 11, 2007.

So why the turn around? It is probably because the World War 3 comment President Bush made that caused Dr. Fingar to take a stand on a fundamental belief he has concerning diplomacy.Sounds crazy but in May of 2006 Dr. Fingar made a presentation for the World Affairs Council of Northern California (http://fora.tv/2006/05/07/Asilomar_5_Wild_Cards) at which he said the following concerning intelligence and its effect on diplomatic relationships between the U.S. and nations that may pose a threat to our national security: "Worst case projections are almost always wrong, so planning for the worst case has the potential to create a self fulfilling prophecy." He believes that the mere preparation for a worst case scenario causes the scenario to occur. So when President Bush spoke of World War 3 his mind automatically went into save the world mode. He knew he had to stop the President from preparing for the worst case scenario concerning Iran, in order to prevent World War 3 from occurring. As twisted as it sounds it is an ideology he stands by, and he is so sure of himself that he is willing to risk the lives of millions over it.

The only question left is whether he has the power to single handedly do this to our intelligence reports. The answer is yes. "Thomas Fingar oversees production of the president’s daily intelligence briefing, among other duties, as the deputy director of national intelligence for analysis and chairman of the National Intelligence Council. He also oversees all-source analysis throughout the intelligence community and directs production of national intelligence estimates and background papers for Cabinet-level National Security Councilmembers." This is according to Stanford University's The Center for International Security and Cooperation- his alma-mater, where, "Every September he takes time to share his insights with CISAC under-graduate honors students during their two-week orientation to national security policy making in Washington, D . C ."

The scary thing is that he did this knowing that if he was wrong the United States and the international community would not have the time to prevent Iran from making a nuke. As Dr. Fingar said in 2006, "We no longer have the luxury of long term planning", in todays modern society, "the time for making decisions will shrink."

Thanks for the post - heard Mark Levin discussing this guy and "giving Fingar the finger"....verbally.

How can we escape destruction when we have such traitors in such abundance?

Yes he did. Just as he went through the litany of how the liberal leftist socialist traitors throughout the last 30 years have made it a top priority to disable our national security intelligence agencies....and now when this bogus report comes out.....these same leftists have the audacity to criticize or claim President Bush’s intelligence gathering agencies are not working! As if the problem with our CIA is (of course) President Bush’s fault. As if this “new report” is legitimate. (It isn’t).

Mark Levin IS the “great one”...isn’t he?

And the liberal leftist socialistic Marxists won’t be satisfied until this country is DEFEATED and DESTROYED.
