A True Crime Update on current ongoing true crimes plus some old ones pop up again.
Seems beautiful sexy teacher Deb LaFave is back in the news. She had sex with a young boy and was supposed to keep a low profile. Well she didn't.
Plus more on the kooks in the Westboro Church, and, no surprise, Aruban murderer Joran Vandersloop gets off again.
The Omaha mall shooting, a toddler that saved her mother's life, and Mike Huckabee's hero, an Arkansas rapist who, once Huckabee jumped through hoops to free him for one rape, promptly went out and raped and murdered two more women.
And this guy wants to be your president.

Please. Do you know dumb you look when you don’t check your facts?
DuMond’s SENTENCE was commuted by Tucker from life to 39 1/2 year. DuMond got out of jail to kill and rape two more women on Huckabee’s watch.
Of course Huckabee says he denies pressuring anyone.
We always believe politicians, don’t we?
Read the article.
Parole Board Chairman Leroy Brownlee, one of the board members that played a key role in setting up Dumond's release, was originally appointed in 1994. According to the link below, Huckabee reappointed him, on Feb. 28, 2002, to another seven-year term. That was AFTER Dumond had been arrested for the murder of Carol Sue Shields in MO in June of 2001.
Source:
I verified the fact that Brownlee is still on the board at the Arkansas Parole Board website. So...although Huckabee "technically" did not pardon Dumond, he gave a pass to the guy who did.
The senior aide, Olan W. Butch Reeves, personally attended a controversial parole board meeting with Huckabee in Oct. 1996.
The clear impression that I came away with from the meeting was that he favored Dumonds release, Reeves said, referring to convicted rapist Wayne Dumond. And I can understand why board members would believe that to be the case.
Also at the link I provided:
Suttlar noted that just prior to Huckabees appearance before the board the board had voted 4-1 against Dumonds parole. After Huckabees board appearance, her colleagues largely reversed themselves, voting 4-1 for Dumonds release. He even wrote Dumond a letter congratulating him. Spin it all you want, he is lying. On the day of the vote, Huckabee released a statement in support of the boards action: I concur with the boards action and hope the lives of all those involved can move forward. The action of the board accomplishes what I sought to do in considering an earlier request for commutation ...
Again...there were more witnesses than just the parole board and there is the press release and letter he wrote to Dumond congratulating him, all a part of the public record. Even his own aide contradicts him. Reappointing Brownlee knowing full well what happened makes it even worse. As for “partisan materials”, can you dispute the facts in the article or is that just a knee-jerk reaction on your part to defend him? And FYI, I personally looked up the info on Brownlee, so I know that is correct.
Butch Reeves, formerly the criminal justice counsel to the Arkansas governor's office, handled all requests for clemencies and communications with prisoners.
His account of a key 1996 meeting between then-Gov. Huckabee and the state parole board largely supports an earlier version of the meeting by former board member Charles Chastain. It contrasts with Huckabee's position that he did not pressure the board.
Then there is the pastor:
While DuMond was in prison, a Baptist pastor, the Reverend Jay Cole, who was friends with Huckabee, ministered to him, and the inmate later said he had found God. Cole said he asked for Huckabee's help, The Los Angeles Times reported Saturday. "The governor felt compassion for Wayne," Cole told the newspaper. "He was sorry for him. So, I asked the governor to help."
But I suppose these guys are partisan hacks as well. < /sarcasm>
