If it hasn't been written already, it will be before next Tuesday: Michigan is, in the famous words of Rich Bond, "the Beirut of Republican politics."
In a state riven by factions and ancient hatreds, Gary Glenn stands out.
He runs Michigan's American Family Association, but recently he's focused his efforts on taking down Mitt Romney.
Given the events of the past few weeks, that now translates into supporting Huck.
Romney's camp shares this email, passed along by a supporter, in which Glenn explains at considerable length how to maximize the church's for Huck and to do so without crossing legal boundaries.
It makes one key element of the Huck strategy fairly clear.
And note which churches to hit and which to avoid.
God help us!
GO, FRed, GO!!
Romney is DOA in Michigan, he just isn’t smart enough to figure it out.
I see zero chance of Mutt getting better than third here.
I am a Huckabee supporter, and while there is nothing illegal in what this guy is doing, it is just plain wrong.
If Huckabee is aware of it, he should disavow this person and his actions.
The guy who did this is a freeper.
I posted the letter to him.
Bump.
Was his purpose to promote Huckabee or evoke a backlash?
Just curious.
Anyone who would play the religious bigoty card or send surrogates to do so in his behalf is not fit to be president on that issue alone.
A lot of the Huckster's core makes no secret that they think Catholics are second-class Christians and Mormons are not Christians at all. That's an awfully big base to p*** on before the nominees are even chosen.
And we don't even have to consider the Hucksters other major flaws-- raising taxes, welcoming colonization by illegal aliens and buying into the global warming crap.
A Romney win in Michigan would be a good thing for Fred Thompson in South Carolina. And that would be a good thing for the country.
Fred needs to make a solid showing in SC to avoid a Rudy McHuckster ticket.
I would vote for Romney or even Guilani and hope their RINOism is due to their constituency and not their core values long before I'd vote for McHuckster, who came from conservative constituencies and delight in pleasing the left.
I haven’t a clue.
Lets ask him!
What? Huckabee supporters are trying to get others excited about their candidate? The nerve! Do they think this is a free country or something?
FREEPERS are going to be sorry that this happened. This will just make Huck stronger. Another state and then South Carolina just might make it enough to get some more states and then make him the nominee. Better stretagy is to have Romney win Michigan and then take out McCain. After that South Carolina will be up for grabs again. Republicans are not being smart this election. It will be 1996 all over again...
Wow, that is so evil, recruiting your base of support. Give me a break. I’ll tell you what, if we had a competition about who is more dishonest, the Huckster, or his detractors, the Shucksters, its no contest, the Shucksters!
Gary Glenn on the right, what is it with these men who are bald and don't support Romney?
Since I am a Huckabee supporter, I am torn, but it is wrong to do such things, regardless of motivation.
Winning without regard to the cost, is not winning.

Give it a minute.
Or follow the link in the story at politco.com.
I got it now - for some reason I couldn’t open it in firefox.
