Asked at the National Press Club's luncheon on Monday “what do you see as the future vision for CNN now that Fox is gaining in market share and popularity?”,

CNN founder Ted Turner leaned into the microphone and, prompting laughter and applause, produced a loud sputtering sound as he blew air through his lips with his tongue sticking out slightly -- aka "blowing a raspberry" or issuing a "Bronx cheer."

"... the right-wingers have every right to have a network of their own and they've got one.”

Huh? I thought he was trying to imitate a death rattle.

If that’s the case, why is Fox orgasming over McCain just like they did Giuliani?

And as Mark Twain would say “I will postpone all activities to attend CNN’s funeral” .....

"... the right-wingers have every right to have a network of their own and they've got one.”

I'm shocked that a dyed in the wool leftie actually acknowledges a right to free speach he might disagree with.

How did such a refined and articulate man ever get to be so rich?

Just the one, though. Left-wingers have CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, etc.

Ah, if only that were true.

and of course, Fox isn’t really “right-wing.” It’s just not left-wing...which makes it seem right-wing.

That may be his point, actually. Fox has relatively no competitors. It’s actually sort of telling, because they ought to be doing so much better if you look at the total market size for each political stripe.

The market penetration for lefty news is 100%. The market penetration for conservative news is probably less than 10%. Large, pent up demand for good conservative programming, which is why Rush is going to clean up no matter what, even though he’s on the radio while most conservatives are out making a buck.

TV isn’t as competitive an industry as people make it out to be. If it were, you’d see better products.

I try not to be mean-spirited the older I get, but I really wish Ted Turner would follow in his father’s footsteps and go eat a bullet.

Fox right wing?

Thats a tin-foil hat conpsiracy of the left

Fox News:

Is part owned by Prince Alawaleed of Saudi Arabia....the same prince who Rudy Giuliani refused a $10 mil check from, for 9/11 recovery....as the prince blamed Jews for the attack

Rupert Murdoch owns a news network in Commie China...which is subject to much censorship by the ChiComs (I am sure the Dems would love that). To ease relations w the ChiComs (weak backing down) he married a Commie Chinese woman. Murdoch made a lot of concessions to ChiComs....before Google and Yahoo ever did

Rupert’s son, James, is slated to take over the parent company (NewsCorp). James is a bona-fide liberal who is buds w Al Gore and other libs

Of course, the pandering to the George Soros funded John McCain.

FNC is about as lib as CNN now. CNN may be a little more honest about it

That's so magnaminous of Ted Turner... to let the right-wingers have a network. What a pompous ass!

Having a money making, popular news network is on Ted’s bucket list.
