US Rep. James McGovern (D-Mass) was offering the Marxist FARC terrorists assistance in undermining the Colombian government.
This information was discovered on the computer of FARC rebel leader Raul Reyes after his death in March at an Ecuadorean FARC camp.
Last week Interpol confirmed the the computers were not tampered with or manufactured by the Colombian government.
Interpol confirmed that documents on the captured computer of FARC leader had not been manufactured by the Colombian government.
One of the documents shows that US Congressman James McGovern (D., Mass.) (pictured), a leading opponent of the Colombia free-trade deal has been working with a go-between, who has been offering the FARC terrorists help in undermining Colombia's elected and popular government.
Colombia is America's closest ally in South America.
The Wall Street Journal reported on the information discovered on the FARC computers:
The Reyes hard drive reveals an ardent effort to do business directly with the FARC by Congressman James McGovern (D., Mass.), a leading opponent of the free-trade deal. Mr. McGovern has been working with an American go-between, who has been offering the rebels help in undermining Colombia's elected and popular government.
Mr. McGovern's press office says the Congressman is merely working at the behest of families whose relatives are held as FARC kidnap hostages. However, his go-between's letters reveal more than routine intervention.
** The US Media has completely ignored this story!
You would think that the fact that a Democratic Leader was found doing business with a terror group and was undermining a staunch US ally at the same time might garner some media attention.
You'd think?
Rep. McGovern led a coup against the Colombian Free Trade Agreement.
The American reported:
Tellingly, the planning of the coup against the fast-track process came, not from the House Ways and Means Committee, which has jurisdiction over trade, but rather from the Rules Committee. According to reporters Patrick OConnor and Martin Kady of The Politico, Rules Committee chairwoman Louise Slaughter (D-NY) and Rep. James McGovern (D-MA) had discussed the option of stripping time requirements from the fast-track process since January.

In order for a group to be listed on the State Department's list of
Foreign Terrorist Organizations:
The organizations terrorist activity or terrorism must threaten the security of U.S. nationals or the national security (national defense, foreign relations, or the economic interests) of the United States.

We'll probably hear as much from the MSM about this as we did about McGovern's fellow Massachusetts pol, Teddy Kennedy, who contacted the Soviet KGB to help undermine Ronald Reagan.

I wonder if he was also working with CISPES, FMLN and hedgetrimmer?

Not a peep from the media on any of this. Another small indication of the danger of a mainstream media bought & paid for by the left wing.
One day we will all pay a high price for their bias.

"We'll probably hear as much from the MSM about this as we did about McGovern's fellow Massachusetts pol, Teddy Kennedy, who contacted the Soviet KGB to help undermine Ronald Reagan."Or less perhaps. Since the Decocrat party is becoming more openly Marxist, the MSM as an adjunct of that Party probably wouldn't want to highlight it as such. It's not a new story really. Democrat congressmen, Senators and leftist American luminaries have been swooning over leftist dictators for decades now.
One can only hope that the scales will come off the American peoples eyes before it's too late.

“Not a peep from the media on any of this.”
Of course not — he’s a RAT. Now, if he would have been a Republican.....sigh.....coverage would have been 24/7.
“One day we will all pay a high price for their bias.”
Sadly, you are SO right, and I am afraid that day will be sooner rather than later.

Is there anyone who thinks this duplicitous leftist goober is going to be thrown out of the House of Representatives? Conservatives need to be more militant.

"Why do congresscritters side with despots and communists?"In my opinion, the Democrat party as it existed until 1968 is long gone. While it still calls itself the Democrat party, it now has a very determined, cunning and patient Marxist core in total control of it. They are loyal only to an ideology and not to a country.
